Hi! Jew here. It’s pronounced “seh-fee-rot” (longer “o” sound and with the “r” rolled in the throat). I tend to lazily anglicize it when I speak it anyway, since I’m a Native English speaker, and pronounce with a rhotic “r” and shorten the “i” and “o”. What I described earlier is the “appropriate” pronunciation for those who are curious. סְפִירוֹת is the original Hebrew spelling.

Hi, Cody. Thanks for that comparison. The artwork is beautiful. The King of swords without his sword bugs the hell out of me.

Thank you for the comparison. I own the indie version and was a huge supporter of the project. I love the art so much and the concept. Yet this deck ended up being a big disappointment for me. The quality of the cardstock is abyssal for a deck at this price point and with such an amazing art. It seems that they went with a cheap quality for the mass market too which is a shame especially when some mass market publishers have been really creative lately and printing much higher quality decks. The mass market looks like a washed out version of the original. Once again thank you so much for comparing both!

If you google "how to pronounce sefirot," the link will take you to someone pronouncing it. Sounds like "sa-FIRE-ought". 😊😊 Good to see you again, I always enjoy your videos. The indie deck is a lot more beautiful and clear than the mass market. 🃏❤️🔮

LOL the pronunciation challenge. I wound up trying to find Jewish scholars on KZread to listen to for pronunciation. The closest I could find was the Sephardi Jewish pronunciation (as I recall it, at least), which was like seh-fee-ROTE, with almost a roll to the R. But even the scholarly type I listened to said that this isn’t the true pronunciation for it. But! This (as far as I’ve heard) is the Sephardi Jewish spelling of the sword, so there’s that.

Okay thank you! I felt like the more I researched, the farther away I was from an answer 😢

I backed it when it was on Kickstarter, and I'm not seeing the indie version anywhere, unfortunately.
