If that was true how come monkeys are not turning into humans nowadays that's not true

Oh Arroz what a lovely video..the close ups of the adults sheltering with you were wonderful..you could see them thinking when is this bloody rain going to stop !! They looked so pensive..and Leo looked so calm..i love seeing them playing in the water how funny it looked with them all in a line doing the same thing 🤣 just so darn cute..at least they'll have clean hands and feet..they obviously don't mind getting wet. Look how they like to jump into the deep water..great video again Arroz and its nice to see the other troops too ..Loweina's only having 3 babies this yr..i hope it doesn't mean their troop size will diminish maybe they'll have more next yr as they'll have plenty of bodyweight to get them through the winter to breeding season as last yr was a bit sparce if i remember correctly so that might make a difference..anything to try and put a positive slant on the increased human footfall due to that bugger that is covid..I'm isolating as a relative has tested positive but no bad symptoms..take care and stay safe everyone and of course our loveky Arroz Marisco

Nova is adorable. It's probably hot so the rain probably feels good! Paprika is so cute too! It's probably good mom stays away. She'll always be on the wild side and teach her young'ens to forage as they should instead of eating human baked goods! I don't think if that was anyone else, they'd have spent time under the canopy with them. They seam to know you. They're washing up! Even the adults need clean hands once in a while.. Lol how cute splashing in the water.. poor lil paprika looks hungry! Trying whatever she can to get a bite.. awe..

I think they believe they are doing something purposeful. Besides that, the monkey staring back at them enjoys it too! 🤔 And it sounds nice. 😁 Thanks Arroz.

You got it! Some of the monkeys enjoy to watch their own mirror pic in the water, others like how it feels but at the same time they're mud lurking because who knows what they can find while they're playing😁. 🤓🏴‍☠️🇸🇪

I had the same exact thought, kids love to splash! I think they're doing it for fun and because it feels good on their hands. Another possibility is that they found something washed away in the water before and are looking for them again (worms? maybe they play with them?) but I think this is less likely. Also, "monkey see, monkey do" definitely happens, so it could have started with one monkey doing it, the rest copied, and now they do it every time just because. Like Arroz said, we'll never know for sure.

Arroz they are doing it for enjoyment, feels good, clean. They are having fun.😂🥰🤪🥳😜🥸🤧🐒👀

Yeah, I think they are just playing. They have never seen a "lake" that small. haha

They splash around and feel around in that water (I have seen this action with other monkeys also) because of their constant search for FOOD, almost everything that they do, revolves around FOOD!

They sure do like playing in the water. LOL

Well all the babies will be taken care of very well with all the mothers and aunts around also it's a good thing that the babies are taught to stay there distance away from people cause everyone is not so nice and it's hilarious to watch them play in the water like that they like it because the water is moving so fast it amazes them it's cute to watch thanks for the video 💜💜❤❤

maybe they know things run down stream and by splashing about, said things are kicked out, such as goodies? if there are any. who knows, but they also look to be playing.

I love when they do this! I could literally sit and watch them all day everyday! Maybe it feels funny on their little hands kinda like when human kids hold their hand out of a moving car window.. I don't know but I sure do love these babies!

Monkeys should have warm and dry shelter when it's cold and wet they keep their self warm for these winter months..........❤❤❤❤❤❤

I believe you're overthinking it Arroz. It seems they enjoy playing in the water as it runs fast down the street. I was always fascinated by this as a child, myself. And besides, it may replace their incessant need to groom.

Arroz I am so thankful that when you moved you did not move away from Hong Kong I just have forgotten so complacent and used to seeing your videos three nights a week it would be a great loss if you did not send us these videos thank you ever so much arroz

Haven't you said that you see them as big kids? I think, they doing it because it's fun playing with the water. They don't fear it, they love bathing. It's a special taktile experience try to stop running down water, wiping in it or whatever. And maybe sometimes the scraps of further up the road are swimming by.... Poor Momo! She nearly lost all her hair 😲

It is due to your love and care for the monkeys that they would share a covered area with you in a downpour. All children like to splash in water after a rain. Ny brother and I did. Thank you and stay safe

I thought it was obvious that they do it because it is fun, like babies bouncing on tree limbs. It sure is fun to watch them.

Nana has such gentle eyes

It reminds me of metal detecting water. Once you find a target you wave above it to rid the sand and uncover the heavier coin or ring for the taking. For macaques maybe it's how they forage for crustaceans and other little water creatures. Or for the seeds and fruits that fall and are carried down stream before settling on the bottom. Those are my extremely uneducated guesses.

This clip is September now December, imagine how grown they are now. Paprika is simply beautiful and adorable too. 🙂😊 🐒 🙏🙋🏻‍♀️

I think they are washing their hands and feet and taking a drink. It’s like a mini bath in addition to just playing in the water.

Just a thought: They splash in the water looking for seeds, nuts, berries, scraps, anything that they eat that might get washed down because of the rain

This splashing in the water has been observed in several different troops. There has to be a purpose other than playing in the water. I wish they could tell us!

I watched this over and over. People, think they are doing it for fun. I don't think so? A few may be having fun. Really pay attention, watch them, analyze the body movement and facial expressions. I may be in left field on this one. What if it's a birth in their evolution. Maybe it's the beginning of religion or ritual after it rains. Praying, giving thanks, idk? When I watch them I can't help to think about is humans. It has to start somewhere? throughs.

Human, most children like to go this too and that's not a non-brainer. Rhesus macaques and human share the same ancestor about 25 million years ago. 🤓🏴‍☠️🇸🇪

How does it work, when either the Alpha or the Matriarch have been nipped/tattooed? I thought I saw a tattoo on Leo, he's the Alpha, no wonder Loweena doesn't have a baby this year. And I recall the same thing with another troop, only it was the Matriarch. So, do they realize when one is shooting blanks? If the leaders aren't producing babies, what's that say for the future of the troop?

@Granny Willow “It” doesn’t work once they’ve been nipped. LOL Just kidding. I think it’s pretty much like human’s, at least for the males. The urge is still there but there is no sperm so they cannot impregnate a female. They don’t appear to be monogamous so I don’t think they would know if a certain coupling did not result in pregnancy. I don’t know if they’ve made a connection between a tattoo and no children in either gender. All I know is that I feel so sorry for the females who desperately want a baby and not having one goes against their purpose to raise a baby grow the Troop. I understand the reason that they feel they have to do it though. I just wish it didn’t need to be done. Good question though and I hope Arroz has some time to see it and answer it. Take Care.

I think most of them feel a bit unsecure when a big lense point at them. For me it's a sign like " don't come nearer otherwise I have to leave". Leo avoided to look straight into the lense. Question: do you always look through your lense when you are so close to them? So there never/seldom see your eyes or whole face? Or rather you don't face them eye to eye?

Maybe they are washing their hands. Exfoliating some callouses. Softening them up. Madge would put some Green Pamolive soap in a bowl to help. 😁

I'm in Louisville Kentucky in the US the closest I've ever been to Canada was upstate New York at some thoroughbred quarantine place it was an airport and it was very close to the Canadian border and I've been to Chicago a bunch of times that's the closest I've ever been to Canada
