Seeking New Challenges with Cerebral Palsy

Ойын-сауық

23-year-old Nikayla Wood has been working on her fitness and confidence as she gets ready to tackle skydiving, skiing, jet-boating, and other big adventures. Living with Athetoid Cerebral Palsy, which affects her motor skills and speech, Nik never imagined that adventure tourism would be accessible to her. But with inspiration from others living with disability, a new-found motivation, and her strong zest for life - Nik is embarking on the trip of a lifetime. / attitudepictures

In the US, we would never be allowed to do that as caregivers/nurses, and it breaks my heart! I'm so glad she has a caregiver who has pushed her out of her comfort zone. I wish all my patients could have someone like that!

You are so right. The US has so many restrictions and limitations when it comes to caregiving. We need to learn from other countries what true caregiving is.

Nikayla you’re so pretty! I love your hair colour, and your smile. I also love the design on your wheelchair wheels. I think you’ve shared such a great message for everyone to do the things you’ve always wanted to do. I think so often we get caught up in the typical life things and forget that we can do really exciting things. Thank you for that! I need to challenge myself to do that more

What an amazing and beautiful young woman. I also have cerebral palsy, not as bad as her, but she is much more brave than I am. I wouldn't have the courage to jump out of a plane.

I love this channel cuz mostly it inspires me and many other. And I liked taking care of this amazing brave girl. But to be honest, I think this video might not has positive impact on millions who cannot afford such a nice opportunity, so for someone with some disabilities other videos included more inspiring messages. Thank you for all your efforts. And my greetings and love to the amazing lovely brave girl

I have cp but it's mild. I walk but not perfect. One leg is a bit shorter than the other so I have a limp. I have 2 boys and I am also divorced but all in all life hasn't been so bad. As a young kid I was made fun of and bullied. When you have a physical disability you have a thick skin and not care what others think. Live life the best you can.

Only thing I would like is the caregiver to take a class on the correct way to get a person up. She continues to grab her under her arms that's can do a lit of damage to her arms. Besides that she a good person to care about her the way she does.
