I think what is brilliant is how Don always wants to try new ideas! Whether they work or don’t in execution, he LISTENS to the fans. And that’s what I’m loving about the tv series. He can explore more new and crazy ideas and flesh it out. We already can see season 2 of Chucky will be quite different from season 1. Maybe it will be brilliant… or could be a mess! But that’s how it can be for a writer and director. Whatever happens. More Chucky is what we need.

I like the entire behind-the-scenes meta-story they got going on. Zoran doesn't like pants and is a joyful prick to James sometimes to keep him on his toes and being funny. Chelsea is a down-to-earth person who likes offering her own insights on things and has her own unique brand of dry-but-delightful delivery. James himself is capable of encountering the fictional beings and story elements he's talking about while on-camera and be completely unscathed by whatever's done to him the moment the shot is over.

This is my favorite of any Chucky movie, and I never understood why, but looking back I think it's one of the best showings of early 2000s culture. It had celeb appearances, it was shot almost too crisply like a Real World episode, it was meta in a way that really hadn't been since Scream. The faux Britney flying off a cliff. It was perfectly shitty I also love that John Waters made an appearance and drew the comparison to Freddy, Jason, and others. I think Seed of Chucky kinda did what Freddie v Jason was aiming to do, but better. And like Freddie v Jason, I think its a movie that's a homey type of nostalgia. Both movies played constantly on the premium cable channels in the mid 2000s. I remember falling asleep to it in middle school and waking up to MTV or VH1 music videos. It feels like a more pure type of nostalgia, like finding your old favorite stupid graphic tee that you haven't worn since high school.
