Within our Garden, we hold one of the largest collections of native California flora in the country. In this collection, there are more than 200 taxa (297 accessions) of rare and/or endangered plants as designated by the California Native Plant Society and government agencies. These represent 25% of all rare taxa in California.
In addition, we do extensive work on seed banking and have a propagation focus on local threatened and/or endangered species, with the goal of preserving and providing material suitable for reintroduction.
