A good friend of mine and member of our quilt group called me to tell me I wouldn't believe what happened to her machine.
She was using her near new Pfaff Quilt Expression sewing machine and left the room to make a cup of coffee. Upon her return she could hear her machine making a strange buzzing sound.
It's my job to see if I can track the invader down.

I've watched many, many sewing machine repair videos over the last 25+ years. This is a first! 🐝
Thank you so much for sharing this repair. I had a thread wrapped around on of the axels, where I needed to take the machine apart to get it untangled. Helped me a lot to know where the clips were and to see your approach for disassembly. Do you have a video, that shows removing the covers as well? or maybe a full service of the Expression 720?
I thought you found a bug in the code of the sewing computer! 😂
That bee is what is called a Yellow Jacket in the USA.

Interesting. In the beginning of 2019 I bought my wife this machine I paid $2300 American dollars for it new. I just took the machine in for service and seen a brand new one on display $5000 American dollars. The mark up is ridiculous I only sprang for 2 G because my wife loves to sew and actually uses this machine. It really makes me sick to my stomach what all these machines are, especially Bernina, which I have nothing against, but the prices are astronomical. I can see just is good on a $300 dollar machine as I can on a $5000 dolar one.
Hello. Is there a video or article that describes how to completely dismantle the machine? There is no pfaff dealer in my country.

That looks like the dreaded European wasp that kills bees and has a nasty sting. They make huge nests, usually below ground so it was probably a scout looking for a suitable subterranean place to start a new colony. They are nasty creatures. I am so glad it wasn’t a bee.

They can sting you over and over again. Horrible things. They got into Australia via a container ship I believe.
