Before adding anything else, I would encourage you to make sure you will not have moisture coming up from the concrete slab. Personally I would cover with epoxy paint , easy to do, durable and cleans up easily. Worse case seal it, and I am not aware of any garage panel doors that actually seal for any length of time. Not sure what humidity is like there. Easy test for slab, cut say 2ft. X 2ft. Clear Plastic, no holes. Tape all edges to concrete and see if any condensation forms underneath in 24 hrs. There are several different ways to test concrete moisture test, this is cheapest. It will save many a headache down the road. Congrats on new labs.

Could also see you adding a fixed bank of overhead instrumentation with retractable probes, soldering irons, etc... to facilitate basic measurements while simultaneously documenting electronic training classes, circuit designs, teardowns, and repair projects at various angles 360 degrees around the bench. Professor Carlson. Every one of your videos is a learning experience. thank you for your dedication of rebuilding and not just throwing away hardware. Our society does that much too easy these days. The audio system you use is simply amazing with your 70"s DJ voice. I could just picture you spinning records on maybe KHJ or KRLA or even KOMA back in the day Maybe a good thought would be to put the bench in the middle of the shop. would make excellent access for video and traffic pattern. Just a thought. Please keep the videos coming

A very smart move utilizing the heavy duty steel racking with the wire shelves. It looks very nice! I suspect that you are keenly aware of the problems with moisture in shops/storage areas without air conditioning. If you don't have an AC unit in the shop, a dehumidifier is a must. I have plenty of equipment that was stored in higher humidity locations and the result is not pretty.

That's an impressive collection and a joy to look at. You may want to consider thinking about securing the windows and roller doors much better mechanically, installing a burglar alarm system and a fire alarm. What you gathered there does not only represent material values.

Wow, space woo hoo! I like your current work area with access to all your gear, this new area looks like a non electronics specific work area and a fantastic storage area for equipment that is not used all the time. So I think if it were me I would put a new bench in your new area for general work, metal work, soldering etc etc and keep your original for analysis. Love your video's thank you

I have two shops, one electronica nd the other is mechanics. I have been putting all my equipment in racks for 50 years because it help me to keep every thing organized and I did not have to hunt what I needed at the time I was needing to use any of the equipment. This saved me lots of time not having to hunt for any thing.

Hey Mr. Carlson, I finished writing this song. I can play it on guitar but I suck at singing so if you can get someone to play this it would be awesome on your channel. It's written to the music of David Bowie's "ground control to Major Tom" here you go: Ground Control to Mr. Carlson Weld your antenna and turn your radio on Ground Control to Mr. Carlson Commencing Countdown oscilloscopes on tune it in and may God's love be with you This is ground control to Mr. Carlson you've really made the grade and the papers want to know what noise you hear Now it's time to light the tubes if you dare "This is Mr. Carlson to ground control" I'm keying up the mic and I'm talkin' in a most peculiar way it seems my squelch has gone away For here I'm soldering the capacitor trying to find the short the screen is really blue and there's nothing more to do... Though I transmit one hundred thousand miles I'm sitting very still and I think my radio knows the channel well Tell my subscribers I'm busy, they know Ground control to Mr. Carlson Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong can you hear me Mr. Carlson can you hear me Mr. Carlson Can you hear me Mr. Carlson Can you "I'm soldering the capacitor trying to find the short the screen is really blue and there's nothing more to do...

Paul, I think you have more Tektronix 'scopes than I saw when I went on a tour of their factory in Beaverton OR when visiting from Marconi in England - February 1978 I believe. Three of us were staying in the area for a couple of weeks to undertake hardware and software training on the AP120B array processor at at Floating Point Systems Inc.

Awesome Paul!!! so are you going to end up with 4 labs? or are you going to consolidate the two current into the two new ones you are building? The current submarine view of your intros is super cool. And it seems you have several models repeated, what do you do with them after fixing them? You could start a school to pass your VAST knowledge to new generations.
