Detroit I think has some of the best looking single family homes 🏠 within a city. The architecture and craftsmanship of these homes is one of a kind. Gross point has the same type of architecture

I agree! I was gonna say that. And I’m from here! I love the mix of old opulence, modern & traditional. It’s perfect. Usually this historic homes can feel heavy, this really doesn’t but still maintains the historical integrity.

There were quite a few different designers, as this was the used as the Junior League Showhouse that year.

The info talks about 25 interior decorators invited in to leave there mark. I sure do hope you took video of before and during the process, could be quite a show or even a documentary on updating the Fisher mansion. The results look great, sure would like to see what it came from. (hope the opportunity has not been lost). Also a sit down conversation with Hill Harper and a bit more on him, as well as previous owners needs to be part of this story.

I would love to be boozed up at a cocktail party and led around this incredible house. One wild room to the next. Nina Simon or any mellow Motown playing in the background as you’re invited to chill in this room or that. Man, well done. Just have to say, Let’s go Red Wings!

It’s funny because I was thinking the exact same thing! 😀 He could never get bored because all he has to do is visit [and spend time in a different room] and hang out and chill in the new vibe, energy and comfort and he’s all set.

This has got to be the most magnificent, AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFULLY decorated Mansion/Home that I have ever seen! It has SO MUCH energy, a great vibe, excitement, personality, creativity and comfort to it. I never see a remodeled or decorated home where I like the whole thing! That has never happened so this is saying something! First of all, I think Mr. Harper’s taste is OUTSTANDING! And oddly enough [because I don’t know him personally], several of the rooms looks/seems just like him! They tend to fit his personality. (From what I’ve seen in the Media). I love the fact that each room has it’s own, distinct personality and vibe. With this sort of flow, he’ll never get bored! He simply just needs to visit a different room, adapt and chill. 😃😄 #HillHarper

I been in the home about 25 years ago with the original Mr Alfred Fisher. Whom I took care of before he passed in 01 and the home was all original but it still looks nice with your design 💯

The builder and owner of this house was Charles T Fisher, not the "original" Alfred Fisher. Charles died in 1963. Three was NO Alfred Fisher that lived in this house.🙄🙄

I love this house, great job

I toured the home as it was being redone before he moved in. Obviously it is his home but I disagreed with many of the changes the the designers were doing. The beautiful wood shelf library was removed. The wine cellar vault was cut open. I would have had more respect for the 3:24 the home. I could understand not spending 250k on repairing the pipe organ though. 😅 Hope he's happy in the D.

The reason for the over-the-top decor is because this video was taken when his house was used for the Junior League Showhouse 5 years ago. Designers are assigned a room to transform. However, he did not keep a lot of this decor once the showhouse was over (I live in this neighborhood)

Which one are you talking about? The only fisher mansion I'm aware of that burned down was William Fisher's mansion back in the 90's but that house was in Palmer Woods not Boston Edison. As far as I'm aware, all the other Fisher brothers and their mother's mansions still stand.

It was 98% VILE.

Personally I think it's a tad bit overdone. Too much "stuff" in every room. I'm a "minimalist", but it is a beautiful home!!

I thought the same thing , but someone in these comments says this is the work of the Junior League .. when it was there show house 5 years ago ...they take either most or all of there items after the tour is over .
