Great Video with a reminder to protect our bees. I just ordered Talak 7.9 F Bifenthrin Insecticide Concentrate (3/4 Gallon) for 48.49 and TEKKO Pro 16oz for 45.00 after watching this video. I think the 7.9 is the new replacement.(I think) I've been using OneGuard Multi MOA Concentrate 1Quart for 114.96. The Tekko pro is not necessary with the OneGuard. Notes: Add a 1/2 gallon of water and pour in your mix while still pouring water in for a better even mixture. The insecticide might go directly to the sprayers hose in a heavily concentrated form leaving the rest of the mixture diluted. Wear the better mask and get sealed no fog goggles for extra safety. Use non ethanol gas. Your carburetor will thank you. Looking forward to posting the compared results!

It’s a good idea to add a surfactant to the water. This helps the water droplets spread out, and not bead up like it does on a freshly waxed car. 1 teaspoon of dish soap, or baby shampoo is a good surfactant that everyone will commonly have.

Great video for this first timer. My bill from my mosquito control company is $386 for one season. My biggest concern is the safety of my dogs. They are Parson Russell terriers and enjoy munching on the wood mulch at the bottom of my plants/hedges. Are the products you recommend toxic after drying if consumed by pets? It appears the fogger doesn't allow much moisture to reach the ground and a fogger is what my commercial exterminator has been using the last two years and it doesn't seem to adversely effect my dogs. Please advise.

Is there a similar product that can be applied with a hose end sprayer?
@thebumpchannel
2 жыл бұрын
The same products can ba applied using a hose end sprayer. Just add chemical to reservoir on hose end sprayer and set rate to 1 oz per gallon for most products. Of course you will want to confirm rates per product labels. The issue with hose end sprayer and even the garden sprayer is you will end up using a lot more chemical for same area as it delivers very large droplets. The foggers are going to be more effective in delivering the chemical into foliage that mosquitos hide in and won't waste chemicals with over applying. The fogger will pay for itself in long run in savings from excess spray and $ spent on chemicals.
I just spoke to a franchise mosquito spray company this morning. They quoted $79 every 3 weeks. I have a question, 90% of my shrubs, plants and trees are flowering. The same active ingredient is approved for agricultural crops, however the label for this product is not approved use. This article does a better job of explaining ipm.ucanr.edu/legacy_assets/pdf/pubs/greenbulletin.2021.fall.pdf It would be "off label" use if so, but I would use some common sense and educate myself on the topic.

Please use a mask and stuff to cover your face just in case the wind kicks back in your face. It used to irritate me very much when I worked for a mosquito company years back.

Just FYI I looked up the Bifen IT abs it is toxic to dogs. Have you used any other pet friendly ones that worked ok?
@thebumpchannel
Жыл бұрын
Bifen IT is safely used in thousands of homes across the country everyday. Bifen IT is safe for use around pets when used according to the label. You should always keep children and pets away from the area while you are treating, and then once the treatment is dry it is perfectly safe to allow pets to re-enter the area

Yeah, but what happens when you have puppies and dogs that like chewing or bushes and some grass?? I know they say it's safe when dry but don't think the have anything for me with dogs that chew like cows
Can anyone tell me if this chemical will kill lizards and smaller vertebrate like snakes? I have green Anoles and garden snakes and mediterranean house gekos. I'm afraid in the wet state the chemical will kill these guys.

Look into Ecovia MT or Mirimichi Green for safer mosquito treatments for bees.

Or In2care mosquito buckets. They work great but you have to get a company to get them for you.
In ct, you must get de 3A license to buy that chemical.

Proflex has regulators in it so really is a all in one insecticide.

At $100 a qt was not sure the math works in its favor but it actually does if you always use an IGR and it works as well as Bifen plus IGR. Appreciate the comment may give it a try.

@@thebumpchannel I should add that after I purchased Proflex and reading label …it’s not recommended for backpack Foggers. So I used a hose end sprayer for this application. I alternate applications and use my backpack fogger for Bifen it. So definitely not for everyone.

How quickly after spraying will it kill the the little shits so you can go back to enjoying the lawn. IE immediately, 24 hours, etc

Does rain affect the chemical? I assume you want to make sure there is no rain for 24 hours after application?
@thebumpchannel

You should have a minimum of 6 hours between your application and rainfall or irrigation. Bifen IT is rainfast 6 hours after the application. www.domyown.com/how-long-does-bifen-it-need-to-be-down-before-rain-qa-14912.html
