Get it while you can. 15 yrs experience in the PC industry here. If California or NY get there way products including Bifenthrin will be going away eventually. A little goes a long way…read the directions! Also add about an ounce of Dawn dish detergent to your mixture. Dawn is a surfactant. It will make your mixture adhere to whatever you apply it to thereby lasting longer and resisting weather a bit better.

Great video! I hate summers here where I live just because our yard and patio cannot be enjoyed due to the mosquitos. We've tried so many things, but never misting. My personal feeling is that mosquitoes should be eradicated from existence, but that's beside the point for now. In looking at this video and the options you showcased and being that I'm quite mechanically inclined and an avid tinkerer, I think I could combine a cordless leaf blower, a standard tank sprayer and a wheeled frame to build a non backpack mister. Certainly gives me another little challenge and project to try out and if it works out, I could save the trouble of a gas operated engine (I've grown to hate working with gasoline and oil in this new, electric era) and also save a few pounds of weight of weight on my back and perhaps a few hundred dollars. Your video has inspired this idea and I'm pretty sure I can make it work. Beautiful mountain scenery and beautiful yard by the way!

@@Brettsgrasscapades lol, yes indeed. I guess I'm not too savvy about sprayer and fogging tools. Shortly after I posted my initial comment I went online to search if my idea already existed, which I really figured it should and to no surprise, my idea was not original as you have pointed out. Yet still, it would be possible to make one's own apparatus with perhaps some advantages to it... and also there exists the advantage of simply purchasing it and saving oneself the trouble. Thanks for the reply!

Dynatrap has worked for me. I have a small stream in my back yard that attracts so many mosquitos. We leave this running as soon as the snow melts all spring summer fall for three years. It has decimated the mosquito population. The key is to have it out asap in the spring to catch the females before they breed. Also, keep it about 12 feet from where you hang out in the back yard so it gets the mosquitos away from you. I still use coils and tikis for parties but this product has really helped. It won’t help if you put it out for a party because it’s basically like having another human there attracting the mosquitos. You need to use repellants for that. This brings down your mosquito population in general. Spraying seems effective too! Very informative.

Thanks for mentioning bees... but also keep in mind the spray dosnt know the diffrence from a mossie, moth, or butterfly... so you're killing all the benificial insects at the same time and starving the critters that feed on them. My suggestion is dont do the whole neighbourhood. If you're hanging out mainly in the back, then no need to do the front yard too. Best thing you can do is break the breeding cycle by eliminating open water sources, which shouldn't be too hard as you're in Utah right, which mostly a dry climate (except for that lawn which looks like it gets watered pretty often).

I live in Wisconsin. Spraying or fogging the yard doesn’t work. Once the sun goes down, swarms of mosquitoes come out of the forests and corn fields. We stay indoors at night because mosquitoes are too much.

Hey! Thanks for making this video. So i get terrible mosquitos where im At. But i also have a veggie garden. Would i be ok to spray around them but not in the physical garden? And maybe do the garlic solution in there?

My son works for a mosquito company here in San Antonio and the first week he started the chemicals are so strong you want to use a respirator even if you're using Bifen

Yes. He’s breaking label laws by not wearing a long sleeve shirt. A full face respirator is not required, but I never do any pesticide treatments without it on.

@@Genetherapy3232 he ,my son ,always wear a long sleeve shirt but yes that is a given with that specific kind of job. I even do it when I spray. But they wear respirators because with mosquito spray they're spraying it and can come back on them if the wind blows that was the reason for it. I live out in the boonies and we have spiders wolf spiders and scorpions galore and I have been stung in the last three years seven or eight times by scorpions in my house and around my house. So I use fast cap which works great to kill scorpions but you got to be real careful with that too oh my goodness I wear my boots long sleeve shirt everything just to protect myself make sure that afterwards I wash my hands and everything very very well. But when I spray well I don't get scorpions and I don't get spiders

@@vickystevens6123 Yup. Label is the law. I’m surprised by how relaxed some labels are. I just have a good full mask.it’s worth the 300$ . If you have good masks and rain coat top. Your more protected and can actually do the job right. Like the difference between building a house with a old hammer vs fast air nail guns. The pros wear a mask. Js

@@Genetherapy3232 I totally agree just because the bottle says you don't have to wear one because there's plenty of ventilation does not mean you shouldn't wear one. But my son taught me how to do it the right way and be safe using those chemicals. Just because one person says you know the label says you don't have to use it doesn't mean you have to follow the label. My motto is safety first. My health is always first and if in doubt I will have my son come and spray my house. I'm due for it anyway right now because of scorpion season here in Texas and I've already killed three in my house just within the last 2 weeks
