Secrets of the fastest Suzuki RM-Z250 on the planet

Спорт

With a second place finish in its first US AMA Pro National in 2019, Alex Martin's Suzuki is clearly the quickest RM-Z250 on the planet.
With support direct from the Suzuki factory as well as Yoshimura, the bike is run and tuned by the Joe Gibbs Racing team - one of the most successful NASCAR race teams of all time.
We learn from Alex what the bike is like to ride, and get let in on the technical mods by legendary Suzuki race engineer Lee McCollum.

    Ti-Nitrade coating helps with stiction on both fork and shock. Plus it looks dope on the factory bikes. Suzuki's time had to be coming soon, they've had a long enough dry spell over the last few years.

  • @wackophobe2827

    @wackophobe2827

    3 жыл бұрын

    you have to mod the airbox yourself, usually take a hot poker and pokeing some holes then cleaning them up looks good, but they dont have a vented one, you have to DIY, the key upgrades would be to upgrade the valves and a high compression piston for more mid to top, and then an fmf for more top, thing has crazy bottom end, but not enough top, same with the 450, id say max power is around 50, for the factory bikes, they are like a stock older 450, but lighter

    LitlleCRO great. It's a match then. 150hrs isn't that long though. My current bike has 80 since Feb. Back when I managed a shop I switched to Suzuki from Honda. Inside the first few months of weekend rides I hand grenaded the clutch. Oil changed EVERY ride. At the time never seen such a thing, but they did it. Probably only rode it a few more months before going orange and never looked back. That Zuke would have never survived the abuse of my sand track of the time without a lot of money. I also used to sell (99-01) transmission gears to customers like they were chocolate bars, because they pretty much were. Doesn't sound like that's changed much over the years. If memory serves me, our top guys even started cryo treating those engines. I dug the bikes, but liking them didn't make them more reliable.
