This is, hands down, the most skillful and informative highlight tutorial I've seen. Ever. And the end result is so seamless that it looks like the client's natural color. Which I thought was impossible for _foil highlights,_ especially when doing bright blonde. I've seen blonde children with this same color in the summer. This girl is a meticulous master of her craft.

Coming from a licensed cosmologist myself for over 17 years, you did an amazing job! You're model is absolutely gorgeous and her hair is beautiful! Thank you for sharing your techniques and tips with us. Thank you to your model for allowing herself to be videoed so we all can see. Ignore the negative comments. I'm sure the model wasn't focusing on her makeup techniques. Like she mentioned, she also work there and probably just in a hurry to get her hair done. I think she's beautiful regardless. Some people just enjoy being judgemental, picking on others, complaining about irrevelavent things. Because they're miserable and just want to make themselves feel better. Keep on doing your thing and continue to inspire the ones who truly appreciate your work. God bless you! ❤️❤️❤️👍

Doing the front first to give that extra brightness is just so key as you said!! So many of us are so fed up that we want to do it ourselves. If i had a dollar for every time i walked out of a salon with orange roots or an ugly toner on my head bcuz of the bleach not staying on long enough... So right about being scared of bleach and leaving on the head longer-it HAS to go thru all the stages to processes. Im a natural dark blonde and my hair takes longer to processes then most people think. Fabulous blonde! Its so nice to see someone take such care about their work. I would love to see the root toner used as a low light to give her a little more dimension plus I always think it helps her natural color grow out a little more gracefully. The money pieces looked so white in some lighting that it almost made other pieces look brassy and comparison. Some clients want to be really blonde by the face but then they don't realize how much that's going to wash them out or that the most damage is being done front-and-center for everyone to see which is also probably the part that gets the most damage from styling tools and products.

Can you show your technique with a keratin/smoothing treatment that works on blonded hair. My client loves her blonde but her natural texture has frizziness in the humidity. A Very long time ago (probably 20 years lol) so many colorist and stylist wouldn't share their knowledge. That's what made them money and kept what they knew to themselves. Not all, but a lot wouldn't share what they knew in fear of losing clients. It makes me happy to see fellow stylist doing well for themselves. It's really cool that you give back!! Be very proud of yourself cause you're extremely talented and know your shit lol.. I've been in this business for 29 years. Started as a shampoo assistant at 15 and I've learned new tricks from you. How do I ask for this to be done to my hair? I asked my stylist for blonde highlights all the way to the top of my head. Previously I had a blonde bayalage. But she highlighted my head and didn’t go to the root so now there are lines that go from blonde to brown (naturally a dirty blonde) and there’s chunks or dark hair. What you did is what I wanted.

ginger herman not all hair needs to be toned. Switching to toner may very well leave you disappointed, as untoned highlites are brighter with a natural golden undertone. Unless your color is yellow or orange, avoid toners.

Youre pissed off at nothing. Toner is a judgement call, made, based upon your needs. Not a given. As an aside..we love and hate Social Media education and your comments are exactly why. A little knowledge can be dangerous.

I feel frustrated too. My base color turns orange or rust most times. I have blonde highlights. They usually end up yellow. I do use purple shampoo but it’s drying. I see all these beautiful seamless results and wonder why nobody can achieve what I see online. They rarely use a toner and never more than one. They don’t use oloplex either. I was going to the best salon in the area . Help....

I wonder how much you’re paying and how much time you’re willing to spend in the salon. A lot of the gals getting hair done in these video are prof vloggers and therefore it is their “job” to spend hours in the salon getting their hair/ make up/ nails done to perfection. These ~extras~ take time and product for a professional to do, and therefore cost more.

  • @kathybrintlinger9993

angelica10123 I’ve spent over 6 hours in the salon but usually 3 hours or a little more. I’ll sit for as long as it takes. I rarely get my nails done professionally and address skincare issues elsewhere. Normally it costs anywhere from 125 to 240 with a couple products. I go every 4-5 weeks. I had a great hairdresser that moved away. I was in and out in 3 hours every time and always happy. Same salon . I did wonder how much the real high end salons charge in big cities. I’d be willing to save up and travel to get it done right. Then hope someone can copy what I have.

BEAUTIFUL blonde hair and talented work! Have you ever tried to brush some lightener on the middle of the foil before you saturate the section of hair? It does a couple of things; keeps the hair from slipping, and adds some lightener to the back of the slice|weave. I learned from Redken, and practiced taking my tail comb at the bottom of the foil, and letting the foil fold over the top of the tail comb and pressing it to the next parting on the scalp. I appreciate your tips, and if these tips slow down the process too much? In beauty school we were taught to fold the top of the foils forward with the tail comb. Thank God for Mr. Victor! He said the fold foil in the back with your tail comb bc it acts like a band aide from bleeding.

I have such a hard time getting anyone to give me ashy blonde highlights! I do not look good in Gold highlights. Gold colors make my face look red! Some of us just have to do Ash! I tell them I want my highlights to be silvery-white and beige, but no gold. I can't tell you how many times I've walked out with gold hair and $150 poorer. Is there another way I can word it? I thought I was working it pretty explicitly. LOL

Try overlapping on dark asian hair like this and the hair will break everywhere. This technique will only work if they have natural light becase. For asian hair almost everytime we need to use 40vol and will result in breakage guaranteed.
