Hi, my name is Tay. I just wanted to say, your video is great. Thank you for showing us which way to do baby strands. I'm going to be doing highlights on 6" brown roots, before doing a red over. I wanted to give dimensions. I thought I would do a medium blonde on dark roots and lighter, platinum blonde, on lower ends. So, I could blend darker highlights with lighter highlights.

This is old school technique, is what you learn in Beauty school. Rarely stylists do it like that in 2022. But it’s a great fundamental approach tho.

Question about toner? Do you add developer to it (if so, it what volume do you use? It is the same volume that you used on your colored foil pieces? I love ❤️ your diagonal section technique!

Usually the toner goes with a developer of 10 volumes or less.. I would say that the bleach it's probably at 30 volumes...so no, it's not the same developer because you always try to use your toner with 10 volumes or less because you only want to deposit color and to stop causing damage to the hair...that's why it's important to lift to your desired height, because the toner will not lift it any further. Hope it helps😊

Typically toners have their own brand developers that are between 5 and 9 volume that go with their particular brand of toner. Hairdressers/ cosmetologists know this if they use them ever or were taught to use them in school (they should have been)

With her faded base color had lots of red pigment had to be AG in color base permanent color with 10 volume /7,8. Same with the toner. Mugged together.

When she flips up the foil and makes sure the underneath flap is flesh to the scalp, then folds the sides, that locks it in place. If you feel that is not secure enough when you fold it in half once fold the foil in half again then proceed to lock it in place. I hope this helps! I use this on my clients that have super slick hair

Really depends on the look you’re going for.. if you want a more chunky look, do less foils with bigger partings, for a more natural looking highlight do more foils with about an inch parting :) or you could do back to back foils as well.. it’s really up to what look you’re going for! :) Hope this helps!
