People experiencing a bitterness or metallic taste are likely using baking soda vs baking powder. With baking soda it isn't the aluminum (which it shouldn't contain) but you end up with too much of it and it has a noticeable taste. Some people also say that baking powder with aluminum salts added can also have an off taste, but I never did a side-by-side there. Using baking powder and not too much should not give an off taste.

We’ll said and totally agree! Especially w all the seasoning and minimal amount we notice no metallic taste at all. Our original vid on this has 2 million views and metallic tasting is not a comment we’ve rec’d

One thing I hate is feathers and hairs on my wings, Sanderson Farms always does a good job in removing them! Great cooking video.

INGREDIENTS 1 TBSP Paprika .5 TBSP black pepper 1.5 TBSP Seasoned Salt 1 TBSP Garlic Powder 1 TBSP Onion Powder .5 TBSP Dry Mustard Powder INSTRUCTIONS All you have to do is mix it up. You can really get creative here and use variations if you like. For example, if you're looking to add a little bit more zing with your wing you can substitute a half a tablespoon of black pepper for a full tablespoon, or even better, substitute the pepper with cayenne or chipotle.

I wonder if smoke alarm people are sprinkling the mixture after the wings are on the baking pan. Extra bits of things on the pan will burn with high heat

I only use non-aluminum baking powder (then rub in spices) because it already has corn starch in it! Far crispier. In oven initially at HIGH heat (475/450 convection) for 10 minutes, then at 350 for the rest of the cook time (flipping ever 10 minutes or so). Works. Everytime

Do you not even flip? Everytime I tried it seemed only one side gets crispy and I eggs up flipping every 15 minutes

  • @Redmeatlover

Great question, no we never flipped. The key is to have them on a wire rack so air can circulate under. If you don’t have one, then rotating might be a good idea
