Whats the other desk behind the Magnus? I was thinking about buying the magnus because of the cable management but some things are kinda odd to me. One is the huge "pad" on the desk and using a monitor arm so you clamp the arm to the mousepad and if you need to replace it you have to get the entire arm off whic is kinda bad. To be honest I didn´t expected it to be as shaky as you displayed it so you convinced me not to buy it. Unfortunately I cant find any good tables here in Germany so I probably grab the Leetdesk.

I just purchased the regular version of this desk, which is pretty shaky as well. I'm on an even hardwood floor and it shakes just typing on it. And yes, I did level the desk. I can't push the desk against the wall due to some baseboards, so I might have to buy a wall mount to fix the issue. However, I love the cable management (took me less than a minute to hide all my cables) and magnet features. It would be hard to go to another desk without those features. @deskhaus I would love to see your company release a desk with comparable cable management for $500 and it would be a no-brainer to buy one of yours.

I'd have to agree with some of your points coming from a design perspective. I would have a bit bigger feet on the Magnus Pro XL, then flip the telescoping of the legs so the largest portion is on the bottom. I'm sure the 3 segment section allows for more range in height. But a 2 segment base could add more stability. I do like some of the features and design elements of the desk though. My only question is which desk out of your selection are you comparing it to? Every desk on your site has a 3 segment leg.

Hi Chris, I apologize in advance if I went too hard in detail with this comment, I don't know if you will ever have time to answer everything ... you made me very passionate about the world of standing desks, the secret lab one is very different from the others, so I wanted to ask you: - Any consideration of the control panel inserted inside the top? I do not like at all the red and green light to raise and lower, then in all the videos I have seen, when there is a lot of light in the room, the LED that indicates the height is not clear at all. Outside of that, I think the panel hidden in the top is cool, but do you think it's functional? - While you have mounted the monitor arm, any considerations of the cable management part, on the back of the top? did you have difficulty installing the arm? little space? the clamp block of the monitor arm does not adhere well to the top because it does not have a 90 angle on the back does it? - Have you tested collision detection? considerations? - The leg motors seem quiet and fast to me, I like them ... but on the other hand I fully agree with you that the stability is terrible (and it is a malus that affects a lot)

Hiya! So I totally forgot to speak on those things. 1: I'm not a fan of the switch. I wish they were buttons and not just touch. The light is also very bright. It can be turned off, yes. I'm a fan of the integration, I would just do it differently. 2: cable management is great, HOWEVER, with this size. 23" is just not deep enough for me and I'd personally get the XL 3: Pretty standard detection. Nothing game changing. 4: Quiet yes. Fast NO. I think they purposely slow down the motors for it to be more quiet. I could hit the switch, walk over to the other desk and get to max height before the Magnus.

I'm interested in your claim that 2-segment bases are more stable than 3-segment bases at standing height. 3-segment bases tend to have a higher maximum height than 2-segment bases. So hypothetically, would a 2-stage base at its max height of say 47" be more stable than a 3-segment base set to 47" but with a max height of say 51"?

Id rather pay another $100 more in shipping and get something that will out live me. My Magnus XL PRO is a replacement for a similar one from 1985. Dude, I'm so thankful that you're honest with this stuff. I was looking at UpLift and FlexiSpot, but neither had the size top I was looking for. I went ahead with the Apex Two Leg with the 27.5" feet and paired it with a 74" Ikea Karlby. I was super concerned that I should've gone with the Pro, especially being on carpet, but I've had zero issues with this build and it's honestly super stable. When it's at my sitting position (30.1) I have to really try hard to get movement in my monitor, and when it's at my standing position it does occasionally have micro movement, but very manageable. I have my computer (Cooler Master HAF XB EVO with a chunky 3090 Ti), two KRK Classic 5 monitors, keyboard & mouse, Audient EVO 4 interface, clamp-on arm with a light, and a 34" ultrawide Alienware AW3420DW on an Ergotron LX arm and this setup handles it like a pro. I can't vouch for the tops, but just judging from the Apex frame, literally anything from Deskhaus is going to be quality. I sound like a paid review, but I swear you can't beat it, especially for the price.

I have the Magnus Pro XL, with a dual monitor setup and it's a tank. Yes If I push hard enough, I can make any desk shake, but this thing is amazing, heavy and doesn't budge I'm over 6' tall, and I have it set approx. 44" high, when I'm working.(I'm not a gamer), and it works for me 100%. It's heavy, weighs more than any desk I've ever assembled, it was easy to assemble (by myself), and I don't give a shit about the packaging other than there was ZERO, damage upon shipping. For ya'll gamers maybe you need something to stand on, smash your girl, drink beers on, et al......but for my uses (work), it's awesome. My suggestion to you is, make your product a better competitive offering so you don't have to hate on another companies sit/stand product sales.

SecretLab will sell a ton of these in spite of the wobble. The magnetic top is an awesome idea which nobody else is doing. I believe it's just some sheet metal covering MDF. Yeah hard disagree with you. I am not one for brand loyalty so not a crazy fan who thinks Secretlab can do no wrong. I got the Magnus Pro XL and it is absolutely fantastic. It does wobble a little when up to my standing height (im 6ft), but it is not crazy at all. Also super smooth and quiet operation. I have 2 monitors a 37lbs desktop and probably 30 lbs of other items and I do not see it wobble as much as yours does. EDIT: Maybe the XL is just more stable than the Regular? Idk how that would work if its true. I've done a couple 8+ hour gaming days where I do more than half that time standing and playing. The ONLY time I have ever noticed wobble is when I attempt to make it wobble and I have it on carpet. The top for the XL is 70lbs so its not exactly light. Regular sized pro is 56lbs. My wife and I both have their gaming chairs so I thought that shade was weird to throw at their chairs. Felt like was back in Highschool 12+ years ago where people would call nerds losers. 🤣 They have like 100 different styles I'm sure anyone can find one that can easily fit into their home décor. I do admit their chairs are not perfect for sitting all day I had to add a lumbar pillow to mine because it just did not have real lumbar support. For the price you wont find chairs that not only look cool but are also decent for posture. ABSOLUTLY AGREE with you on the packaging. Holy hell that was a pain in my ass to dispose of. I was happy as hell the package was in perfect condition but damn Secretlab needs to do better with that. Lol

This video addresses the wobble on the Secretlab XL (see 11 min 40 sec) and it doesn't look nearly as bad as in the Deskhaus take - kzread.info/dash/bejne/imF4mLWIYZPYZKw.html. Maybe the depth and weight of the top on the XL model do make a substantial difference as you've said? In the three reviews of the Magnus that I watched, none of them had the shaky, popping thing going on when they were moved up and down, either. I would imagine that would be grounds for an immediate return. I am looking into various standing desks to replace my ancient computer hutch - and for full disclosure I do own a Secretlab chair that I got on sale for about $450 and have been very happy with. Though I will check out the Deskhaus Apex Pro due to seeing this video and that it is made in the USA, I do find the tone of this video to be very off-putting. I have owned my own retail business for 17 years and can't even imagine going on YT and talking about a direct competitor this way. Coming off in a more even-toned manner (I agree with and third the packaging take!) would have made this video a lot more powerful as a feature comparison piece. Edit - time stamp text

seems like there is a lot of secret lab brand loyalists here. I myself own one of their chairs; the Titan XL 2022 (being 6'10 it is hard to find companies who make chairs for a person my size, could of done more looking but like he states in the video; SecretLab has the money to market this stuff, so it's no wonder that's the chair I landed on). with that being said; I assume no bias in the matter as I'm not married to "SecretLab" the company. seems a little off putting that alot of these people want to say "you're biased" "bad look to shame another company" when those seem like statements made to fit their narrative. looking back into the past; how many companies have made it a point to compare their products to those of a different brand? Ford did it. Apple has done it. and I'm sure there is countless others. that's not shaming; that's simply making a comparison to inform people on the objective truth of the matter AKA the facts. instead of looking at this man like he is in the wrong; take a step back and look at the bigger picture? you can't be involved in any industry in which you aren't willing to make it apperant that you offer a better product/service than a competitor. Also, you can't prove such claims without buying and testing both products yourself? so he isn't in the wrong for that. if he simply made his claims then everyone would be doing the "where is your proof" type deal because let's be honest; sometimes there is no satiating or satisfying you people of the internet. sometimes you lack all objectional reasoning or common sense; if that offended you? I'M TALKING ABOUT YOU! grow up. secondly he is legitimately putting his money where his mouth is. granted, no one would ever win that $10K because he is kinda comparing apples to oranges; the SecretLab desk is less quality. albiet more "impressive" and "apealing" to those in the market for "gaming" related products. like he said, SecretLab has the money to market the HELL out of that table. with that being said; why argue with someone in the industry of standing desks who makes them? who has made a video implicating why he thinks the way he does; showing you several forms of proof as to why he thinks he offers a better product? and also offering any of those who disagree with him a very profitable amount of money to prove him wrong? this guy knows what he is talking about and no one would ever win the money; you can make the argument "well you aren't comparing a desk of the same price range?" why? cause he simply could NOT offer you a desk for the same price as the Magnus PRO; and expect that desk to be any type of quality. SO HE WONT. he isn't a snake oil salesman; he is a standing desk salesman. this man isn't going to try and put you into a product that he knows in the long run wouldn't be good for you. it would be nice if you people would appreciate people like him more; opposed to trying to tear them down and defame/defamate them based on how you 'feel'. like I said "GROW UP".

Honestly, this is fair. I looked at deskhaus' desks versus secretlabs when I was looking around recently and went with the magnus pro xl because of cost, cable mgmt, and because I'm not a streamer or anything. I'm typing on the magnus pro xl right now and if I pay suuuuuuuuper close attention, there's def a wobble at standing height if I put oomph into it, but it isn't something that impacts me or my work. Internet is full of enthusiasts these days who care about stuff your average person just doesn't (see: keyboards, I've lost so many hours to keyboard youtube at 3am...). Personally, I tested my desk at standing height and it seems to wobble less than the model here, though maybe the XL has better stability or something, idk. The desk did look offset to me in the vid as well, but there's a youtube shorts follow up to that as well *shrug*. Mr deskhous man comes across as a dick, but like...a passionate dick.

This offer of 10k to prove this review wrong, is just marketing. Will they actually give the 10k away? Sure, why not. Their hope is that this video and the marketing they’ll get out of that 10k offer spreading, will more than make up for it whilst they slander a competitors product. Additionally. You can see throughout the video some inconsistencies with the setup of the desk. There’s points in the video where the desk appears to be either at an angle, or appears to have been intentionally offset from the ground. I have to wonder as to the integrity of this review as a whole.

Gaming branded desks, chairs, accessories are all a giant rip off. They're already real products with gamer shit thrown on the description so they can pass the price off to the customer for a brand name. For the price of those Secret Labs chairs and desks I'd expect something I can sit on without it wobbling. The chairs alone are the biggest farce they sell. It's all branding for streamers, the ergonomics are terrible. For half the price you can buy a chair meant to be sat in and have a much better time, sitting up, back or hunched. Gaming branded crap is marketed for the idiot consumers.

Even if all that you are saying is true (and I am not saying it`s not), making a video like this is in poor taste. No matter how you do it, you will not be regarded as doing it in good faith, since you tend to potentially profit from people who decide to follow your advice. I am not judging you, just giving my honest opinion. Hope your company will thrive (more options are better for the customers), and while you are maybe correct about their marketing strategy, you should also reconsider yours.
