Secret Traincar Project Tour - The Scottish Thistle

A car that was once in the collection of the Lake Superior Railroad Museum, is now in the hands of some hard working friends of the museum who are working hard to renovate the car to begin a new life on the rails. The Scottish Thistle was a unique business car from the Canadian National, which entered private railcar charter service, and then was eventually donated to the museum. The project was a bit bigger than the museum wanted to take on.
Today we go on location for the first time in our series to check on the project of the renovation on this car.
This is a video series from the Lake Superior Railroad Museum in Duluth, Minnesota. Learn more about the museum at www.lsrm.org

I never knew this area ever existed! This is amazing, and I am thankful that we get to see this! Once again, thanks. And also, thanks to the people restoring it. Hope to be riding!

I got to see _Scottish Thistle_ once on the end of the _California Zephyr_ . Good to know it has some life still left for it.

I saw that small diesel locomotive that you’ve posted on Facebook no. 320. I live about half an hour from Holt where it was getting restored and I have to say I thought it was going to be a part of their new fleet.

I used to be stored in Woodland, CA. I saw it frequently behind the Coast Starlight and the Zephyr.

I was worried there, at first I thought the car was being scrapped. Hopefully you can get it back to shape

You guys used to have a DVD, with an actor by the name of Wayne sorensen. I was curious if you had any of these left, or if there's a place I can stream the DVD from. I have him as a substitute teacher, and want to get the DVD to remember him by. He did a lot for me during a very tough time in my life.

Shame they have destroyed the cars history by turning it into something it never was.

This private car was perfectly in good shape, I don’t know why they are ripping it apart again and rebuilding it

@@jackchen7003 it was in a middle of a rebuild and it was forgotten. Then it was in Two Harbors sitting and I heard people broke in to it.

Just because it’s been repurposed doesn’t mean the history was destroyed. Fucking moron.
