Mostly sisam(east indian rose wood). Very hard wood but has tendency to bend after long time.

Means that this wood carving art can only be done within Ladakh and manufacturing of this art related products only should be done at Ladakh. Manufacturing this product at other places in India is a ILLEGAL activity now according to the Government norms ....
