@Logan Johnson that is your fault not the Cougars fault the cougar is an apex predator they are one of the most mystical animals of California I also like the owls and condors of California aswell. The Cougars deserve to live, regardless thanks for not shooting it. If you leave your pets outdoor stray or not they have a pretty big chance of getting killed by a car or a coyote or a cougar. Coyotes seem to attack more house pets then any animal btw and I am glad the cougar kills the deer becasue it gives him alot of food to eat, humans also kill deers, and btw deer populations grow fast asf just like coyotes there is still alot of deer and coyotes

thanks Mark to you and all your colleagues for this and the work you folks do to study and protect cougars. i've been following your amazing work and thankful that these cats have advocates and professionals to do the hard work to understand and protect them, to the extent possible. they are legally hunted where i live, and i hope someday that changes.

I teared up when he mentioned the deaths from trophy hunters. These animals face enough adversity just from the wild already. Just tragic.

That was a beautiful and heartwarming video. They remind me of how domestic cats behave. There's not much difference, except for size.

What we needed to do. If we are allowed to hunt other animals but not these one's it will throw the entire ecosystem out of balance. Oregon banned all Mountian lion Hunting and now they're having issues with overpopulation.

You don’t In one day your house will be cared up these animals are not meant to be with humans are meant to be in the wild your house will look like a trashcan I recommend you don’t ever try to get one they’re meant to be in the wild remember that you’re not meant to be with humans I know how much these people want one but they’re meant to be in the world it’s for the best I’m sure these animals take care of themselves better than human taking care of it

Karen Moore a 2yo lion is not a trophy in those circles. To even be considered a “trophy” would have to be 6 plus yo and 180# plus. My wife harvested a lion this last winter, we were not trophy hunting. We were thankful for the meat for our family. Doesn’t get anymore organic than that.

R Hickman I assure you a 2yo cat is not a trophy. My wife harvested a mtn. Lion this winter and we have enjoyed the meat. Wasn’t a “trophy” in size but we were thankful for the meat for our family. These hateful comment generalize hunters in a very divisive way.

Hi , I've tried to find out what kind of call I heard years ago . It is the call in " " Partners in Rhyme , cougar call 6 " . Sounds similar to a woman in distress wailing ... As if she seen a loved one hurt . I know mountain lions are at my property in Weston , WV 26452 , but was surprised to hear them in Crownsville , Md 21032 . Thanks very much for any informative input 👍

Great footage, John is a obviously naive in regards to biology as we're the Apex Predators over bears and cougars . Nature has and will manage population its people's infringement on habitat that creates conflict animals . And yes I hunt for subsistence but have a respect and understanding of animals right to coexist . Trophy hunting isn't nor ever will be hunting period . Thanks for the video and hopefully people will see Cougars differently.

Well Matt.place it in the woodbine.just inside it..but put it on a mounted tri pod equipped with a human flesh sensor.along with a 7m08 just encase some hunter pass by..then you can see the awesome animals they are.good luck

They are my favorite big cat

Big think about cougars... they see you not the other way around

Check out this domesticated cougar on the Puma Messi channel. He's unbelievably patient, obedient and gentle. If they weren't wild animals, I'd love having one.

Beautiful. That is a big female mountain lion and an amazing mother. I didn't realize how big the cats can get. I can only imagine how big the males are. It's a shame how humans treat these magnificent cats. Trophy hunting is immoral and inhumane.

Thankfully the DNR keep a VERY close eye on population. Hunters take out older toms so new toms can pass on their genetics. I know most Cougar guides refuse to take more than two females in a season. Cats are notorious for killing livestock, house pets and even humans, so by removing them it saves ranchers. Also, all the money hunters spend on tags goes directly to conservation to preserve the species, and all the money the hunter spends on a guide, lodging ect. gets pumped right back into the economy. Hunting sounds counterintuitive on the surface but hunting is conservation.
