You dont understand Gravik's plan. He's not in it for power, he wants to wipe out humans so Earth can belong to the Skrulls. His pursuit of the Harvest isnt about having powers for himself, it's about being able to fight the Avengers who would get in the way of the Skrulls taking over Earth. Groot and Extremis powers aren't enough to stop Thor, Dr Strange or Captain Marvel.

Fury's "Harvest" is probably the reason Fury didn't want to bring the Avengers in, they might discover he collected their DNA which is a HUGE slap in the face to their trust in him... similar to Batman keeping a catalog of ways to defeat JLA.

I agree. I think Fury soured on super heroes when the avengers failed to stop the Thanos snap. That’s why he gathered their DNA so he could create heroes he had more control over. But the super heroes would be pissed if they found out about Fury’s harvest. So that’s the real reason he can’t ask for their help.

The rest of it is a boring slog full of "plot points" that make precisely zero sense. This is a pretty poorly written show all around but Olivia Colman is at least a bit fun.

Thought the same thing, but think it's Monica Rambeau that will be "Fury". He talks to someone on the phone at the end of the episode, and prior trailers show Fury being hit/slammed by Gravik (in super Skrull Cull Obsidian form). Normal Fury would be dead but Monica can then take him on.

Am I the only one who thinks that everytime Jackson and Cheadle have scene together it’s magic?! Together they make the scene so real and sincere. It feels as though they hate each other but at the same time the respect is felt. Both of them will hopefully stay long term.

This is probably my favorite episode so far ,Iove how violent they are getting, and I actually think this episode has the best shot of the series yet. So excited for the finale.

I'm heartbroken that Talos is gone. I so enjoyed his character in this series and his interactions with Nick. UNLESS...he wouldn't be the one on the phone, could he? I wonder if G'iah and Gravik will have a showdown, since they both have Extremis powers (and, for G'iah, who knows what else she might have). Olivia Coleman was absolutely charming in this episode. Bad ass.

I think Gravic reverting wasn't him showing anything, it was simply he was no longer using any of his 'power' to look human so he could unleash all his strength. Added benefit was he showed to every other skrull who he really is when he killed the guy in front of the others. It wasn't a 'human' but a skrull killing another skrull

I'm quite sure Maria Hill is Alice, especially after Fury mentioned the "new generation" of this camouflage device that allows you to change the overall appearance. I think it was someone else disguised as Maria Hill and she may be undercover, somewhere in New Skrullos

Olivia Colman is absolutely killing this role. I love her actress and her character, because of this. And she may be one of the best things about this show.

Cinematic pet peeve of mine is whenever they reuse scenes shot in the show/film as the material for the news casts. Like the camera used to film also was the news imagery. I liked that in Civil War the Russos reshot scenes from Winter Soldier and Avengers from a different angle to show those events from a different angle.

I'm not sure if anyone pointed this out, but the actress that portrays SLJ's wife also played his character's mother in Unbreakable. She gave a great speech there about comic book villains.

At this point in the MCU I'm kind of tired of sympathetic villains, so Gravik showing his true colors was refreshing. The plight of the Skrulls he's leading is genuine but now we can see he's just using them for his own selfish ends. Sometimes it's nice to have an antagonist you can just hate.

As a long time Izzard fan, I have to say my glee at the 'Cake or Death' moment was extreme.

The hardest death was Maria Hill's. It just seemed insane. Felt like family being torn away. Like she was the voice of the audience.

Disney + needs to get more consistent with its run times. If the show is meant to be an hour long, then make each episode an hour long

I doubt emilia clarke would just sign up for a 6 episode series after 8+ years of GoT, she may have an ongoing part in the future of the MCU and her being a super skrull on the good guy side might well be that. i guess we'll see

The person he was talking to at the end was very clearly Gravik. He was getting the harvest to meet him to not blow up new skrullos

Lol it'd be funny if gravik ended up failing because eventually after he took Groot's powers he was relegated to only being able to say, "I am Gravik."

My theory about the hospital scene would be this: Because Fury didnt trust anyone, including security personnel, Fury may have taken POTUS to a small hospital or a clinic, and not a big city regional hospital. To be a bit more incognito. This may explain the minimal staff issue. And it may have taken the Gravik's men and the US government agents time to figure out where Fury actually took him.

More important question about that fight scene in the house... if Varra had all those guns stashed away in her house, why did she have to go all the way to a safety deposit box previously, to get one to shoot Fury with?

The President knows Rhodey is a Skrull because Nick told it to him when he brought him into the hospital. He was in and out of consciousness but I'm sure he heard Fury.

Your point about the hospital scenes being flat and low budget is one of the better criticisms I've noted. One hopes it was in service of better cgi, I suppose. Interesting to note: the harvest, and iirc the groot DNA had to come from "the battle of earth", but I think the watch in hawkeye came from there too. So in shades of homecoming, item 47; AoS, both battles are spawn points for mcguffins and origins--and presumably involve damage control (which would be easy to evolve into a hammer or mutant police). Dramatically we kinda have most of the pieces: fury felt defeated by the snap, talos believed in coexistence, etc. We don't know why gravik became suicidal other than a lust for power and opportunity. The final housekeeping is where is true Rhodes, what happens to the bulk of skrulls, where does a surviving Gaia go, and maybe why did they never find a planet/set up for a kree skrull background conflict in Marvels. Tin foil hat: Mason is fury's son and half skrull

fr I hated the first 4 episodes. really badly done spy tropes all over. But the 5th episode saved the show. They NEEDED the first 4 episodes to really drive home how low Nick Fury had fallen for the 5th episode to mean anything, and they took this low point and knocked it out of the park.

I mean I know it’s considered not cannon but Agents of Shield left off with Daisy Johnson acting as Earth’s representative to space. And now Fury has spent years in space building a space station. It implies in Agents that they arrive back in their time and universe at the end of the series after being in an alternate one of Im remembering correctly. I would really enjoy if Maria & Phil arrived with Daisy Johnson (aka Sky aka Quake) and her Secret Warriors in the Zephyr. I can dream.

@@jackdubz4247 well I for one would be totally psyched to see them return especially in a way that tied back to how the show left off for Daisy. I need to rewatch that show. It had some issues but it was still great.

It would be amazing if Fury gives Gravik the blood of the Avengers, and then when Gravik uses it, he gets no additional powers, because Fury only gave him Tony Stark, Dr. Strange, Natashas and Scott Lang's - just the blood from Avengers with NO superpowers.

The MCU is trying to tell me that Fury didn't replace every single window in his house with bullet proof glass or turn the damn house into a fortress

I was thinking the same about talos until I realized that all skrulls know what each other look like in their actual form, giah would especially know what talos looks like as a skrull. Like we know how our close ones look. And they can't hold forms when dead.

Olivia Colman elevates this show every time she appears.

The spoken line “well who else could be a skroll” kind of sums up this marvel for me. So much spoken, so little shown.

Does it make sense that Fury would have Avenger DNA? Yes, most definitely. Does it make sense he'd get it from the Endgame battle? No, definitely not.

I'll tell you why, the power of the script. there is no point in looking for the DNA of all the avengers on the battlefield. being able to collect saliva or feces from their base. The only one that would make sense is Carol Danvers's DNA, but how to find it in a sea of blood that left the battle.

So I didn't buy into the theories before, but I am thinking it's more and more likely that Fury absolutely will die at the end the series. The symbolism of his grave was just a bit too on the nose, and I think Varra's story in episode four, about the doctor whose life she took over, was foreshadowing that Fury will die and a Skrull (probably G'iah, but maybe somebody else) will take over his life and job protecting Earth, and that's the "Fury" that we saw in the Marvels trailer.

I like that idea but I’ve just had it in my head that G’iah will become Abigail Brand in the Mcu and work on saber/sabre ( I don’t know which one it is)

there's literally no point in killing off Fury and still have to pay Sam Jackson to turn up to set, but be "someone else underneath" in whichever story. doesn't make much sense if you think about it. if you kill off fury, SLJ is gone too.

As for the blood sample thing. I don't think it's actually the blood that reveals the true form it's the fact the skrull lost concentration due to the pain making it so they can't maintain the form as well

I’m hoping that he’s talking to Moira Hill, and maybe more people tied to SHIELD. The best way for this to all end would be for him to bring back SHIELD to deal with earth threats and still have SABER to deal with threats to Earth. Maybe bring back Coulson, and other Agents of Shield, not necessarily making the entirety of it canon, but just that some of it was. Or even some of the other minor ones from Avengers or Age of Ultron. Maybe even some Skrulls that stayed loyal to Fury that we haven’t seen.

This show is a slow cooker, building up slowly which might be why some people dislike it as it isn't the usual Marvel offering. Personally I'm enjoying it.

Or Gravik reverted back to his skrull form cos as Magneto said in First Class to Raven, using her energy to maintain her appearance as anything other than her blue state, she is unable to give anything else her total focus. He wanted to give his fight total focus.

Actually the Maria Hill theory makes sense. By having her “ die”, it could be just Fury sending her on a separate mission for when the time is right 🤔 My theory is that Fury will need to fight Gravik alone but brings in other skilled humans (nothing in their DNA that Gravik wants) like the Widows, including Yelena. No doubt Sonya has something up her sleeve as well… We’ll see. Cannot wait for the finale. 🤞they stick the landing.

@@KxngAntTae that is the question. But Gravik could have killed him ages ago. There is more to that relationship and story. We’ll see. Not saying my theory will be right. But be realistic. There is just one episode left. Show budget vs movie budget. Etc etc. no point in being too hyped about it 🤷‍♀️✌️

@screencrush @ryanarey I think you're right about MH, in the conversation btw Furry and OC's char, he said that the "widow's veil" was the old version, and eluded to the fact that the newer version can camouflage you're entire body.

Episode 4 was perfection, set a high standard for the show but this was still a really good episode. Loving the show so far

My hope for the final episode is a retcon that the eye patch actually has tech that enables fury to see skrulls in their natural form even when they are shape shifted as someone else. This would help in the finale, show that he has always been a step ahead and i think it would be nice to show that when prisilla watched him read in their home he was actually looking at her lovingly in her natural form through his eyepatch. I also think that going along with the struggle that fury talked about that skrulls should be offered amnesty if they will stay in their natural form. This would bring it full circle from the 1st episodev where we saw fury asking them in the 90s to hide in a human face... if they really want to be at home here they unfortunately need to go through the struggle of being accepted for the green aliens that they are and not the faces of humans that they can hide behind.

Isn't there an old episode of FF4 where they turned a super skrull into a cow ,and left him on an island? Imagine they did that to gravik in the finale😂.

Fantastic Four #2 way back at the very start of the FF. Three Skrulls were getting info on Earth for an invasoin, so rather than killing them, Reed made them turn into Cows and he hypnotized them to forget they were Skrulls so they just lived their lives as cows.

I noticed the biblical inscription on one of the Fury headstones 'The Path of the Righteous Man...' a favourite of his character 'Jules' in Pulp Fiction

I agree I instantly thought he's talking to Maria Hill and Coby Smulders was credited in the episode 😉

I’m so devastated that Talos didn’t make it. I still hold out a sliver of hope that it wasn’t actually talos that died. But yeah the last episode better be 60-90 minutes long

I was thinking the same about talos until I realized that all skrulls know what each other look like in their actual form, giah would especially know what talos looks like as a skrull. Like we know how our close ones look. And they can't hold forms when dead.

The show so far has been AWESOME!!!!!!!. Sofia is absolutely killing it!!!!!

The Harvest has just revealed Fury's evil plan and it's worse. Fury kept the Skrulls because of their body's potential to adapt. I wonder why the Harvest is just a single vial so I realized that it's already a refined mixture of genes that Fury got from a super skrull he made. After the Battle of Earth, Fury had skrulls collecting genes then he started to work on a being with all these genes, a super skrull. That is why Fury said Gravik got the idea of Super Skrulls from The Harvest. It proved effective but something went wrong so the skrull had to be killed and the genes harvested. Fury's plan for episode 6 is to give Gravik the genes so he can refine it some more, adding 4 more abilities. Devious.

Sonya also said to Nick that "Darwin never sleeps" which means that evolution keeps moving along. Nick will evolve the Harvest further by putting it in Gravik.

"Let's finish this" implies a plan that was thought out and made with someone who has been with Fury for a long time. Totally makes sense and would be so awesome!

Ok you've earned my loyalty by including the Eddie Izzard reference. Other videos have missed it, and it's one of my favourite moments of the episode, especially as it's said by Olivia Coleman

Someone else commented the same thing that I was thinking: We think that Sonya is Talos and the “talos” we saw die was actually a loyal solider to Talos and Fury. I even held out hope on Maria still being alive at this point. She could be using this newly developed Widow technology that Fury mentioned to Sonya. Maybe Nick didn’t lose his touch after all…?

It would be weird if Nick Fury had a bunch of spare Skrulls around with their own families, hopes, and dreams to sacrifice brutally just in case the audience felt bad about someone they liked dying. Especially if Nick Fury didn't know the audience existed and instead was doing it so people he liked more wouldn't die... and he knew it in advance.
