I hope Bella finds a new mate in the off-season. Scout still has a few years before he can focus on being a provider rather than solely a predator. To see him fight his mate over food is scary and I've never seen the male or female eat the eaglets. RIP little ones.

RIP eaglet #2.

He just took out the 2nd hatch. Cry. Poor Bella and both her sweet eaglets. Fly high little ones. It's such a tragic learning curve for new Dad Scout. I was feeling like he wouldn't pull it together. Must be difficult to switch from scavenger to provider. If they are together next season, i hope he learns to be a Dad and does better for beautiful Bella. She deserves it. ❤

@SS71180 So so true. They deserved at least 1 of them to hatch. Love me some Jackie and Shadow. They were my 1st nest I watch 3 years ago and the same thing happened that year. It was so disappointing for them and their fans. Nest watching can be tough on the heartstrings. Cheers. 🩵

Well this was the most shocking and heartbreaking thing to witness. I hurt for Bella and those poor babies. I just don't understand his behavior at all. RIP little ones 😢 💔

I don't have much to say about this male when other males (shadow) want nothing more than babies and so caring then there's this so called eagle 😢

Wonderful news that the egg hatched, now let's just hope things will be ok in the nest concerning the food.

It's wonderful that they have a second eaglet but Scout needs to learn really fast to be more gentle and to provide food for them so Bella can stay with the eaglet. The eaglet has been left alone for too long as a newly hatched. Sometimes he acts more like a juvenile/subadult than like a newly father. I don't think he figured out yet that he is the father of that eaglet. Hopefully he will soon. Thank you for the video and for giving updates on this nest.

I'm not sure yet whether this will have a good outcome. Instead of bringing food, he steals the food that Bella caught and urgently needs today given the weather.😞

There was another eagle couple name Rosa and Lewis. Lewis is an unexperienced male eagle just like Scout. I hope Rosa's health is ok too. I know she been feeling not well and she also stopped incubating the eggs and left because Lewis was not helping out much due to his lack of experience.

Wow, I’m a new viewer here to this nest. Very nicely done with the synopsis. Interesting. This reminds me so much of the behaviors of Tom from the other nest and Beau, all new daddies it seems. Lots of drama up in these parts! Hope the little cutie is fine. 😊

Thank you! It's definitely very similar to Tom, but it's very unfortunate that Scout did not catch on. I am truly shocked by the fact that he did this - twice!

I also heard about Beau and someone said viewers were giving Beau a hard time but he was an unexperienced eagle at that time, but soon later he was able to do his daddy duties for his family. May I ask what nest is Beau from?

I wish she would have tried to feed the baby in front of him.

I don't trust him based on recent events but I'm hopeful

should have been the start of two amazing chicks. The cam should be turned off in respect for the loss of these two little ones. Though nature is cruel we get it. Let them RIP

Scout hunting/eating hatchlings is most likely a norm for him. And unfortunately it’s not an easy habit to break.

Being a new parent, it's almost certain that he just didn't understand this was his offspring. Very sad.

I truly wish people would read the post that Whimsy made, She explains everything. Bella brought 2 fish in Scout stole them, There would be no need for some of these questions. I hope this baby will make it, This is going to be a nerve-wracking wait and see.

Things are ok so far this morning 4/12.Scout stole the fish from nest yesterday,twice! Baby hasnt been fed by bella yet.lets see what the day brings🙏

It seems these two are not finished bonding yet. Looked like he was building a new nest cup. Then she appeared to threaten him over taking the fish. I hope they get it together soon!

Looks like there's a big chunk of fish still in the nest when he left that last time.. I think Mommy gave the baby a little bit anyways before. He was hesitant to take the fish.. he's learning

@@mygirldarby Sadly I was wrong about him learning 😭 There is another nest that Joe trotter is watching and he's saying that the eagle babies aren't getting enough food why are we seeing all this why can't somebody bring them food!!!!

He just ate the second eaglet this morning.

Wait, was he trying to bury the baby by throwing the sticks on it. And then settling down outside the nest bowl? I don’t know his antics but he seems flustered or like he’s competing with the baby.

Scout is murderer

Mom leaves the nest unattended a lot from what I’ve seen. Someone said maybe they’re not finished bonding and Scout is still young. Or, is there enough food? Then again, it is nature so it’s anybody’s guess. Hopefully next year will be better.

I know that food scarcity has been cited as an overall concern this season, but I haven't noticed any real food shortage at this nest, so I don't know how much of a role that played. I think at this point - yes - all anyone can do is speculate with a little logic. I'm not sure this is meant to make a lot of sense to a human mind.

I can’t watch this nest, I don’t trust that male at all. Even momma didn’t feed the baby 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

He doesn´t have paternal instincts yet specially if is a new adult (for what I see a brand new one or perhaps a subadult) , animals don´t have reason capacity and they don´t act like us the humans, is nature, perhaps the next year would be better, is sad, yes, but is something we can learn about eagles behavior.
