They always go "GGGGGGGGRRRR" when they run down

How to scare you grandpa

How did you go about restoring this? I've got a GP6 that needs a bit of cosmetic work (and some 3phase power, but that's another matter), and with this being the only restored GP6-derived siren that I've seen I feel it might be worth asking you!

Basically stripped it down, sand blasted everything, painted everything, replaced most of the bolts/fixings with new, put it all back togeather and pumped 3 phases into it.

Thanks for the info; I'll probably look at getting the shot-blasting and paint done professionally as it's a bit beyond my capabilities. Powering it up, I can work on that myself at least!

What causes the odd sounds during the wind down?

the shutter is jammed closed

FYI The Secomak CS6 is an incredibly rare siren. There are 3 known to be in existence, with yours being the third discovered.
