"“I felt that it was too difficult to win through the SEC to win a national championship,” Bowden said. “I felt like our best route would be to go through the ACC and that did prove out to be correct. But, I don’t know if we could have made it through the SEC.” And he reconfirmed this on his own FB page in 2014.

$120M is JUST the exit fee. Buying back our TV rights would cost somewhere around $350M. It would cost nearly HALF A BILLION dollars to leave the ACC.

Came here to say this! Especially the ending. Follow the money, kids, if you can handle the truth! P.S. As a Pac-12 fan (for another few weeks) I’m glad Washington won. Because we’ve been on the short end of the stick 2-3 times. Like when a team loses their conference title game and still gets in 😂. But like I said, follow the money. That’s why it’s now the PAC-2 😢

Same color, not remotely the same type. Finally, your persecution of TCU being "not good enough" rings hollow since they put a +50 burger on blue-blood Michigan, with Harbaugh.

I think every fanbase thinks Matt is a fan of their team because the insight he has on each team’s fanbase is scary good

Texas actually makes sense though. No bad losses, a win over the SEC champion on the road, lots of solid play. Alabama has looked extremely suspect in several games.

Matt absolutely positively does not miss. This is both hilarious and completely spot on.

The subtle things Matt does…like having Georgia sit far lower on the witness stance than the rest…you have to watch each video multiple times to see all his Easter eggs…brilliant.

Most out of context line of his ever made. Not to mention the one time Bowden was blatantly wrong and biased. The acc was just as strong if not stronger in the 80's and 90's than the sec. Not to mention nothing ever changed with FSU scheduling the best teams ooc and sec teams as well. Even now the acc still has the 2nd most titles in the past 40 yrs. That's the power of media being in bed with conferences and spinning the narrative

These just get better every week. It is hard in the off season because no football and no Roll call. Thank you for sharing your talent Matt.

I’ve watched it a few times now and in my mind, I’m picturing Matt playing each role live and just running to each spot, changing clothes, delivering his lines, and then editing out the transitions. @@jawjagrrl When you look at the money the SEC and Big10 will make in coming years versus the money that the ACC and Big12 will make, yes, every team that wants to compete in college football at the highest level should be doing whatever they can do get into one of those two conferences. Staying in the ACC long term is not sustainable when the money will be dwarfed by the new Power 2. In 5 years, the only two conferences that will really matter in football are the SEC and the Big10 - I would argue that we are already seeing that.

Money isn't the reason FL State didn't make it, it's because after watching Texas/Oklahoma State and Alabama/Georgia game, they watched the ACC game and it was just plain pitiful. I felt bad for both teams, It was 100% clear that was a completely different caliber team playing. You know it and everyone else knows it. The number 1 criteria was to get the best 4 teams in and Florida State isn't one right now in their current state.

So awesome. HILARIOUS! I’ve watched it several times and sent it to several others.

ESPN can actually wash their hands of it because they have no control over the committee, they just have exclusive rights of being the first to present their rankings.

Inconsistencies? LMFAO. It's not the CFP Committee's fault that FSU plays in a weak ass conference and thus has a weak ass schedule. As SEC Matt pointed out, FSU could have joined the SEC in the early 90s but didn't because "the SEC is too tough." It's quite fitting that a little over 30 years later that those very words ends up biting FSU in the ass. Got to love Karma and her wicked sense of humor.

The thing is...Florida State was never getting in. If Bama loses to Georgia, Georgia remains #1 and Texas slides in at #4. They tried to go to 12 team playoffs last year, and the ACC was strongly against it.

In a non-corrupt system, where money isn’t put above integrity, the ACC would of been justified, seeing how their champion this year was undefeated, with two wins against the “mighty SEC”

I think GA/ FSU and TX/ Bama we’re package deals. If Bama lost, keep FSU, but had to promote Bama now so TX bumps FSU.

Naw. I think if Georgia had won, FSU would've been in as being undefeated. Didn't matter if they didn't vote for the playoff this year. They were an undefeated power 5 conference champ.

Its because bama beat Ga that made Texas win vs them a big thing. They would have put all the undefeated teams in. Who owns the rights to the SEC? This was well done pointing to the money and not the records and FSU got hosed coming from a UF fan.

Absolutely not. If Georgia wins, Texas is left out. They had to put Texas in to get Alabama in due to head-to-head.
