Agreed. Headless Cross happens to be one of my favorite Black Sabbath albums. Such a shame too many so-called fans turned up their noses because he’s neither Ozzy nor Dio.

He was in Sabbath when I was a teenager too, I think Cross Purposes was technically the 7th Sabbath record I bought, still love that one, he was so good,

Tony Martin is one of the greatest rock vocalists in my opinion.

I really do like him. But he used to and still does avoid the high notes, which makes the experience of listening to those songs on studio version so different from live versions. It is a bit disappointing actually. But i simply love his era in Sabbath.

If you look at live footage from '89, he didn't attempt many high notes back then either. Still did a fine job, though.

His mid and low registers sound to be in fantastic shape here! If anything, the silkier tone he achieves on the chorus towards the end of the song is a cool new interpretation of the song if you ask me!

Tony Martin. By far, the most underrated vocalist of all Rock/Metal bands. He may not hit high notes again (comprehensive, by his age) but his tone is heavenly as it can be. Gigantic tone, control, he's got at all. The end of the song The Eternal Idol, his vocalizations IMO are one of the most perfect things in a Doom Metal song that will ever be around. Nobody beats RJ Dio, but Martin was and still is a true legend.

I love the Sabbath albums with Tony, he is one of greatest singers ever

Tony Martin deserved a long term "AAA" band gig. He's amazing and here is 57y old, sounds crisp and spot-on.

Seems like the crowd don't realize the legend they have in front of them

Agree. He should tour with this band or get viv Campbell. He shoulnt waste time waiting for Iommi. His voice will deteriorate at his age. I'm going to pray he tours.

I saw Martin with Sabbath on the Cross Purposes tour... absolute magic. I was directly in front of Iommi, but Martin was the real show. Martin's time with Sabbath produced my favorite albums... yes, even Forbidden has some really great songs.

Sebastien cannot speak English. One of the best live persormances you could ever view. Thank you Tony Martin.

Well as you get older the voicebox gets stiffer and you're much less able to hit the high notes. This was an excellent performance

Best era of Sabbath is with Tony Martin.

Such a very smart guy to deliver a very decent concert even not being able to sing in a high level anymore. I'd pay a lot to see him.

Tony did much better than I thought he would on this show and song. Tony Martin did an amazing job on the albums that he did with Black Sabbath. The Eternal Idol, The Headless Cross, and TYR are amazing albums. In my opinion they are just as great as the Ozzy and Dio era albums. The Headless Cross is one of my favorite Black Sabbath albums ever. Roland Grapow did a great job on the guitar solo also. I am also a huge fan of Helloween and Mastetplan. This was very cool.

Tony Martin is the best singer. I love his voice.💖

Cross Purposes was my first Sabbath album back in 1997. I remember loving it so much at the time. Yeah, I heard him before Ozzy, Gillan and Dio. The good thing is I heard him unbiased and have been a fan since then. Great vocals, even without the high pitch notes on this live version, one of the greatest.

The entire sound system and all lighting is driven purely by the drummer's ability to generate endless amounts of kick-ass energy!

As many have noted, the sound is simply spectacular! What a mix! And Tony Martin is just a legend..

The backing vocals on the choruses are spot-on too, WOW, it's so cool to hear this song done such sweet justice!!

Born Again doesn’t deserve the newfound appreciation it got over the years, it’s very weak compared to everything the band had done prior and did since (with the sole exception of Forbidden, which is the only truly bad album Sabbath ever did).

This really sounds good, Tony sounds great, the band is REAL solid, excellent listen!!
