What I love about Chabal's hits is that he always (or almost always) wraps the arms round in the tackle. You see too many players - Nonu and Alesana Tuilangi in particular - not wrapping the arms in a tackle. It's illegal and dangerous to shoulder barge and I often see people defending it saying "When you hit that hard it's hard to wrap" and yes, it's difficult but as the good L'homme de Cave Mr Chabal shows us, not impossible. I love big hits but I hate illegal ones.

At Sale he had an excellent ability for off-loads which he never really had a chance to show when playing fro France.
