This makes me feel some type of WAY!! Makes me feel nostalgic, I guess. Brings back many memories. I hope to be able to return to campus soon, and subsequently, the ave in all its hellish glory!

I lived in Seattle from 81 to 02. It was nice walking “the Ave” with you, revisiting Costa’s, Bulldog News, the U bookstore and parking lots that I relied upon. Even the PO looks good. Love the soundtrack of rain and planes headed to SeaTac. Thanks!

Very thorough and great look around! I came to the UW as a student back in 77. So many buildings are standing but the businesses have evolved. Hope the very needed restaurants will be able to survive. Your videos help to encourage and bring life back to the areas that once teemed with people. Thank you!

It's interesting how perspectives make a big difference. I do work in the UW tower from time to time and have walked these streets alot and didn't think much of it. But watching this feels so peaceful and full of tranquility.

I don't how long you've been there but there wasn't a dollar store last I was around. Starbuck's could be anywhere regardless of home or not, that's the problem. U District use to have small independent cozy coffee shops and hip old record shops, the place use to have character, I'm fortunate to have experienced it. Seattle has changed so much since I was last there but it's still the greatest city in world and will always have a special place in heart with many many fond memories.

Ahhhhh good ol Ave
Never agreed Seattle rains all the time. I've lived here for almost 20 years. We've had great summers and in my experience only 4 to 5 mos., of rainy days. Most of it mild to moderate rainfall. We do experience drought EVERY SUMMER so it's ironic that it "rains here all the time", not true. Camera work is amazing and enjoyed this video very much. Great work.

I grew up in Seattle, went to Roosevelt High School. And during my time there the only month that reliably remained dry was the month of August. Every other month of the year it seemed like it rained at least two or three times a week. Planning anything out-of-doors was always qualified with the caution: "weather permitting." More often than not, the weather didn't.
Let’s be real. That’s the Ave on a good day.

Isn't the University book store simply the best book store! when i can i often duck into this store for a quick read and quick chit chat with one of the staff members working there.
I lived in the U-district from 1991 to 1997.Back then the streets were full of people with the grunge era...u know it was alive. It just looks so dead now.Sad,I am seeing this video in Australia.
So cool~~~~~~^^
Really nice evening walk in Seattle and relaxing rain sounds, I enjoyed it 😊👍
i used to walk run around this area late at night 93,94. Very safe area. I dont miss the superficiality. The soft water and mild temps are wimpy compared to mountainous Canada with -30 and hard drinking water.
I went to UW, miss my school but don't miss the rain and gloom

Most locals don’t use umbrellas they are so acclimated to drizzle they don’t notice it.

The U-district you knew or know is dissappearing soon. Make way for more high-rise condos, and (my guess) few if any of the existing retailers. With the continued need for more housing, zone upgrades (building hieght limits), and the new University station, potential redevlopment sites now pencil.

Obviously fake. No way someone would walk around with an umbrella in Seattle.
I swear everywhere in the US is better than the UK.
How many times were you asked for money while walking? I'm almost afraid to watch, but this is what Seattle has become; a never-ending handout for the homeless who we have inspired to become entitled to handouts.
