Ha! I'm from Seattle, and have relocated to Mazatlán (6 years now). 60 years of overcast and drizzle finally got to me and I needed someplace sunny!
You picked the best hotel nearby… that roof deck (and bar, called the “Nest”) has the best views.

Spot on about Anchorhead Coffee---much better than Starbucks! Been going to Piroshsky Piroshsky since it first opened, the beef and onion piroshsky---Food Of The Gods! Lol! Turkish Delight----The lamb stew! And while Pike Place Chowder is very good----after all these years, just give me a bowl of Ivar's clam chowder, on Pier 54, lol!
Kouign Amann is actually a Breton word not French. It's a toughie to pronounce. BTW, this east coaster thinks Pike Place is indeed foodie paradise.
