I lived in Seattle for two years. The first year was the driest since the beginning of record-keeping of precipitation in the 1800s. I, unaware of this detail, thought that the city’s reputation was clearly exaggerated, and that I had made a good decision when I chose to relocate there from LA. Then, the second year, rainfall returned to normal, and that was the end of my Great Northwest Living Experiment.
