SEATOWN CLIFF COLLAPSE (Pre/Post Aerial Cinematic), Jurassic Coast, Dorset, UK By Drone - 4K

Фильм және анимация

In the early morning darkness hours of 13th April 2021 a massive cliff landslide collapse divided the beach near Seatown on the Jurassic Coast in Dorset. 4000 Tonnes of soil and rock cascaded down the cliff and is the biggest cliff fall on the Jurassic Coast for 60 years.
This aerial video shows the cliffs as they were, and then at 1 and 2 years later. Incredibly, most of the massive debris field has already been washed away! A large ledge hangs precariously with long deep cracks. This ledge has dropped 3 feet recently, sparking further speculation that it too could slide at any moment!
Shot in 4K, this video makes an ideal reference for geologists.
The Jurassic Coast is so called because the rocks famously harbour the remains of dinosaur and sea creatures from the Jurassic period. Many fantastic specimens have been found all along this part of the coast of England, United Kingdom.
NB: This film has been optimised for playback on a TV and recorded in Ultra High Definition.

The cliffs don't look so high until you see the relative scale of the (reckless?) people walking along the beach. Beautiful video and I have subscribed.

'Relative scale' That's definitely something drone photography does so well! Thanks for your comment and subs Claire!👍🙂

Wow, the comparison between the before and after aerial footage of the Seatown Beach Cliff on the Jurassic Coastline is incredible! 🚁🌊 It's fascinating to see the transformation caused by the cliff collapse. Your videos offer a unique glimpse into the dynamic nature of our planet's landscapes. 🌍⏳

Thank you for another stunning video. It's documents like your video here that surely will prove important years down the line as future generations look back. I'll tell you something, given the width of those cracks at the top, I'm damned if I'd walk my dog on the beach below!

Thanks once again for your support! Yes it would be great to think there's been some good reference material captured! I'm chalking up the odds on dog walking disaster, and they don't look great! Perhaps if they could see things from an aerial perspective, they wouldn't take the risk? Then again....😮

I gather the crack finally gave way, 21st July 2023, thankfully while no-one was around! Can we hope for a new version with the next phase of collapse and erosion? Thanks for the coverage.

Yes, I'll be back to film it again when the weather gets better! From what I've seen, the collapse is even bigger than before!!
