One of the best and honest reviews I've seen about the S01/Mo so far. Thanks a lot for that!

Glad you enjoyed it!
Agree with the front light Idea.
Was thinking of getting this in place of my diesel guzzling car, but the comments & title have completely turned me off 😂 EV's aren't ready yet.
hello thanks for your analysis. but how did you manage to achieve this range of kms in your test? I have one and the maximum I managed to do was always about 80 km, both always riding in eco and always in city.. in sport mode I don't even want to imagine I feel a little disappointed with the bike in this regard, otherwise I love it! I look forward to it, thanks!

Glad you enjoyed the review - as mentioned, mixed riding, from city and some motorway in the City and Sport modes; barely using the Eco mode.

The key there is , always in city, much more pulling away ( using more charge ).
I bought one but it's been at the dealership for the past nine months because they have trouble getting parts and the battery has failed on mine and trying to get it fixed has been a nightmare so just be aware that if it goes wrong you will have major issues getting it fixed

Do you pay Road tax on this model? I'm looking for a way to reduce costs and currently fuel is a big one, My plan as a truck driver is to commute 18 miles to work take the battery off and charge it in the truck through an Inverter as I'm doing my job meaning my daily commute cost other than insurance would literally be zero...... Unless there is road tax to pay of course?

Best checking the government website as things change all the time!
There has been practical and more affordable electric mopeds with swappable batteries in Asia for a good few years now...

Look forward to seeing more of them in the UK!
I have considered this for commuting but for me the lack of ABS breaks the deal. The top speed performance according to many testers will go into some heat mode and limit it which would be potentially hazardous in heavy commuter traffic. With the range and speed of this, the potential buyer is probably not restricted to urban traffic only. Switches being cheap is annoying, the feeling of the stuff that you use daily. I did not at all get the description of the braking system. Left handle rear brake and right for front but regen only on rear brake? 😊 I understand batteries are expensive but you can literally get two Yamaha Neos electric mopeds for the same price with legendary build quality. There are also Vespa 125/300 or Honda Forza or ADV 350 for the same price with rider aids, keyless, good build quality, great secondhand value and a lot more power or the Vision cheaper. I think Seat missed the mark. The hardcore grownup commuter would want a better and more refined product with more features and probably pay more, while someone looking for cheap urban transport wants a moped with one or two 10kg batteries that are easy to carry into the flat or workplace. Seat here in Sweden seems to have given up and in 2023 now sells it as a very very expensive and heavy moped limited to 45kph.

I’d actually buy this as a moped if I didn’t have an E-bike (which in itself cost near as makes no difference 3k GBP). The Neo is great but the range isn’t good enough (I’d just take the E-bike). This? Now this would be great if I had a commute where a moped or 125 would be necessary. Remove battery to charge, put the laptop bag under the seat and pick up the kid for a small ride home. Is it a bit pricey? Maybe. But it’s built in the EU and I don’t see this as competition to the Honda Supercubs/Dreams, at least not for me.

I went and tried one today. Quite impressive indeed. The power was easily enough to keep up with (or outdrive) traffic. And in particular the equivalent to “in-gear” acceleration. Indicator gaaah! Creak, yes. Chassis geo is really well done, nicely balanced and stable. The suspension/chassis is the main weakness, a bit wallowing when pushed, and noticeable friction in the fork, same with the others in the showroom. The one I drove had a very annoying hop / vibration at 60-70kph. Bad balancing in this example or something you experienced? With a good fork and shock setup this would be stupidly fast. They really nailed the packaging, geometry and layout and with some work this would be a true contender. For any reader I’m 6’6” and had plenty of room.

Sorry for not coming back to you sooner! Indeed the lack of ABS is rather disappointing, though, there are many electric bikes that seem to also emit this. In terms of the throttling, not something that I experienced but wasn't going flat out at 50+ throughout the battery range. As for the brake levers: right lever at sub 20% initiates regen, then when depressed more activates the front brake. The left lever, initiates both mechanical brakes only. Regen is done by the motor, so yes that would be via the rear wheel. Agreed on your other comments! However, didn't experience wobble or any inherent issues with the suspension. 70kg, 6ft rider here.

@@kristofferrydquist8384 I kind of agree with you on the fork/suspension front & that's an issue that may be resolved with the new Performance version that I have yet to see or try out. I'm not sure of your hopping problem on the one you demoed as it's something I've never came across.

The downsides of comparing the Neo to this are, the Neo doesn't have the power of this, doesn't have the range, doesn't have the storage, doesn't have the same battery warranty & doesn't have the same battery charge hold promise.
Had the displeasure of being given a Silence s01 on holiday recently. Petrol wasn't available despite being booked. Ev scooters are dog sheet. Completely impractical range, compounded with charging times. Lithium is dangerous too, no way around lithium's dangers. Ticking accident waiting to happen. The 40kg battery, gl to anybody thats not fit and healthy lugging it to the plug socket, you're going to love that and youre going to love waiting for 6+ hours. If you actually ride the bike with any urgency, you've just literally reduced the range by 50% or more. You have to ride it like a grandma to get more range. The squeak are the discs/rotors and pads. Brembo with radials they're not. Any self respecting biker probably won't enjoy these EVs, they're impractical, limited, etc. Petrol bikes are superior, it is that straightforward.

most of the 5000 british money lbs went into the battery cost, so they had to cheap out on some of the items 😆😆😆

Your right, definitely most of the development costs are in the battery. However I disagree overall with the talk of lack of quality. This bike, I've found, is leagues ahead of any of the Chinese competitors.
