Seasons | Lady Spring Part 1 | Watercolor background and coloring skin | Color Along

Today's video is part 1 for coloring this double page spread from Seasons. I have used Kuretake watercolors (Art Nouveau set) for the background and Prismacolor pencils from the 150 set for her hair and skin. I've also used a Caran d'Ache full blender and Splender Blender for blending the pencil work. Thanks for watching!
~Kuretake colors used:
501, 504, 505, 506
50/50 mix of 505 & 506 (in mid-tone areas)
50/50 mix of 501 & 505 (in mid-tone areas)
~White Posca

omg she is so perfect, you've aced those colours again. I haven't done this in my book so I will defo be following along at some point. One of the things I am finding with these Hanna Karlzon ladies is that I feel her interpretation of eyebrows are a bit too heavy (for me anyway) but you always colour them perfectly. I also love my Kuretaki watercolours although I do believe they are more guoache-like than watercolour, as I have found when used purely as a watercolour they don't actually behave as say a Winsor and Newton Watercolour paint, but no problem using them here or in any other colour books. I've found that you can't colour over them with pencil but heyho you can't have everything lol. Tfs xo

Thank you so much, Elizabeth! Yes, Hannah always draws in really heavy eyebrows and that’s one thing I don’t really like either. I’m not very good with covering up white lines and then coloring over them so I just try to soften up the edges as best as I can. I love the Kuretake watercolors, too! They are definitely my favorite at the moment! The colors are gorgeous and the formula is very nice. I usually only use them for backgrounds, so I don’t really need to color over them much maybe a little white for some highlights here and there, but that’s it. And I like the fact that you can get them to be really opaque. So they work really well for me! Thanks so much for always being a big supporter! Have a wonderful weekend! 🫶😊

Wow. I love it and can't wait to see the finished work. I found the Kuretake paints on your storefront and caved seeing for the first time ever a 10% discount on them. I have had them on my wishlist forever and have never seen a discount. Have you ever tried Kuretake Gold MICA Ink? Dede Willingham introduced it to me and it looks amazing, so that landed in my cart too.

Thanks! The Kuretake are wonderful! You will love them! I have not tried the gold mica ink. I will have to look into that. I have some Coliro gold metallic watercolors that I use every once in a while and really like those. But I will look into the Kuretake one. Thanks! I love Dede!! She’s great fun to watch!! Thanks for watching! Enjoy your new watercolors! 🎨🖌️🫶

I’m glad to be of inspiration! That’s definitely something I strive to do! It’s funny how you can be inspired by somebody else’s work but then when you go and try and do it, it looks completely different! I hear you on that! But that’s good, as we put our own signature on our art! Have a wonderful weekend! 😊🫶

Hi Billie! Thank you! No, I have not tried those watercolors. I don’t have many watercolors, I guess. I don’t really use them on anything else except for backgrounds in coloring books. I know there are some very nice expensive ones out there though! so far I have just tried some budget brands and medium priced brands. 😊👍
