    You really should have English subtitles. Not everyone can read or write Hebrew script.

    Hi, thanks for your feedback! The podcast is for Yiddish learners who are looking for more resources to improve their listening. Following along with the transcript can really help with listening comprehension, vocabulary acquisition and spelling. We have considered adding English but as far as research on language learning, it's still unclear if reading subtitles is an effective way to boost acquisition. Though of course you are free to run the transcript through google translate and many listeners do. As for learning to read the Yiddish Alef-Beys, if you need some resources for doing that, let me know - I can point you to some great sources! Maybe I'll even do some videos on that someday. Once you've learned the alphabet following along with the audio will help you to develop reading fluency.

    if there were english subtitles, i would automatically read and not force myself to listen and understand the yiddish, thanks for keeping it all in Yiddish@@ProsteYiddish
