People say it’s the skins that changed the game so much, or the new items. The community of sweaty soccer skins is a valid reason for the games change, but I think what changed the most about the game is the end game. So let’s set the scene. You were a default skin looking for your first solo win. Back in the games early release, (if you remember, you remember) you would end up landing at an unnamed location in fear of getting killed. (For me that was salty factories RIP) For a good chunk of the game you would sit somewhere hidden like a shack or a bush inside the zone, playing extremely passively. If another player walked by, you would be afraid to shoot them. They would most likely be too afraid to shoot at you too. When it would come down to 5-10 players left, you would still be left unnoticed and with at the most 3 kills. Your only worry would be finding a good hiding spot inside of the zone. You really wanted that win, and that free season 2 snowflake umbrella. But the final zone was closing in, and you were running out of good hiding spots. The last other 2 people were fighting each other. They had the battle pass, and you were intimidated. You leave your bush, storm right behind your heels. One of the other players dies. The last player is standing still healing, so you take your shot. _And that rock music OST kicks in._ A blue victory banner spans across your screen as you let the controller slide out of your hands, your heart beating fast and a feeling of sheer victory inside of you.

To me the game feel 5 years old, but in reality it almost about a year. It’s not even the music but those sounds. Like the beeping when the storm is closing. Even though they might have not taken them out it still feels like I don’t hear them anymore. The worst part is that I used to shake in the top ten. Now I just brush off a win. I miss being a noob and think winning was an accomplishment.

honestly they could easily just add an option called ''music'' and have the setting be ''old'' and ''new'' like fuck, as someone who does some basic coding i can see how fucking simple it is to do that, ''if its set to old, play old music, if its set to new, play new music'' thats basically the code you need (if you convert the text to code of course, but its fucking simple to do)
