    "Hear the Word of The Lord your God, all peoples and nations; hear Me and give heed: I am The Lord your God, The Creator of Heaven and Earth, of all things seen and unseen, known and unknown. Therefore run not to the left hand, nor to the right, eyes straight forward. For there I am upon My throne. All judgment and principalities are given into My hand; all is Mine. Yes, all you have is Mine, for everything you have I have given you, even to the cattle on a thousand hills. Every living creature is Mine. Every tribe, tongue and nation is Mine. All peoples are given into My hand, says The Lord God of Hosts. Behold, the whole earth and everything in it is Mine. Even every star and planet you see in the heavens, and those not yet discovered, even all of these are Mine. For I have created all things, and through My Son they are and were created. And all that is Mine, I have given to Him. Kneel therefore, bow down and give Him glory! For your life is but a glimmer, a mere drop of rain soon swallowed up by the earth, seen of no more; serving as nourishment for that which grows upon it, which is also soon withered and turned to dust once again; dust to dust, ashes to ashes, a flame brought forth, soon extinguished - so likewise are all those of the flesh. All flesh is given into His hand; whether from death unto life eternal, or from life unto death eternal, all is given into His hand. For you are and were created in fragile flesh, beautifully crafted by the hand of your Father, having been made alive in The Son. In His image you are and were created, in love I created you, placing you in the garden to My own joy... My own beloved who have received of My breath, created by The Father, made for The Son. Beloved little ones, you are Mine, And I have given you to My Son; For all I have is His, and all He has is Mine... And so that which I have created must now return to Me, For I call you back, and I will receive you to Myself once again... Therefore come to Me, return to My love, Abide in My mercy and know Me; live in My Son! And I, even I, shall be your God, and you shall be My people... Six days ending, the seventh at the door, wherein you shall find rest; Behold, even I shall rest with you, for one day in The Lord. Therefore, come now and share in My joy, abide in My love, enter into My rest. For The Way is provided, The Lamb sacrificed, My own beating heart stilled in death, My own blood poured out so you may return to Me. Beloved, the curtain is torn! The way is open! Approach and draw near to Me, hear Me calling! For The Ladder of Heaven is joined to earth, glorified and named above all names! Call out, My children, call on His name, and seek to know Him as He truly is, and you shall be lifted up to glory! For all those who truly know Him know Me also, for The Father and The Son are One, YAHUSHUA-YAHUWAH! Beloved, He ALONE is The Way and The Ladder; be joined unto Him, be united with Me!... Glory to Glory, by Grace of Grace, Immanu El! Yet I hear the cries of this wicked age, says The Lord. I have looked upon all these atrocities committed by man. I have seen how he murders the innocent without cause, how he oppresses the poor and the needy and cares not for the widow or the fatherless. I have beheld the hearts of all men. I know every thought and every intention; I am aware of all his plans, of every evil scheme he devises against his neighbor. Thus I have declared the day and appointed the season... A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, bitter sorrows and great fear, days of judgment! RECOMPENSE FOR ALL NATIONS! The Great and Dreadful Day of The Lord, the Day of Slaughter, great sorrow and bitter tears!... It is finished. Therefore, thus says The Lord: No more shall I withhold My hand, nor stay silent, no more shall I wait. The day is done, and the sun is setting upon this age of men. For My anger is kindled and burns in the heat of My wrath; My indignation has come to the full and must be poured out!... Like a dark storm building upon the horizon brings foreboding, as a great torrent inundates a city and running waters quickly overtake a town, like fierce waves beat back the shore or a raging sea capsizes a ship, as the power of the great whirlwind causes widespread devastation, so shall the indignation of The Lord be! Behold, I had given mankind dominion over that which is Mine, even over all My good earth and every living thing upon it, and this is how My own children repay Me?! WITH SORROWS?! What do you mean by this, O sons of men?! Where are your hearts?! For you have endeavored to rip My image from your chests, as you cast away every blessing with which I had blessed you, feeding it to the dogs! Behold, even the pearl, of which you were to cherish, have you taken and smashed upon the rocks, shattering all hope, breaking My heart in pieces! O sons of men, what do you mean by this?! Why now do you go out to pervert your ways, as one with no heart and no mind at all?! For that which I behold in your hearts is evil upon evil, darkness, veiled darkness and vain deceits! Even now, you devise plans to utterly destroy yourselves! Sons of men, what do you mean by these things?! How is it I bless you, and you return evil for good and death for life, even to the destroying of all things holy, even to the innocent, MURDERING MY LITTLE ONES WHILE STILL IN THE WOMB?! Have you no love in your hearts at all?! Have you no compassion for these I have given you?! DEAD GENERATION! MULTITUDES OF CONDEMNED AND DYING PEOPLES! Therefore hear Me, you wayward and most wicked generation: Call on your men in authority, bring out your riches, bow down and call upon your idols! Call upon your gods and possessions to save you, if they are able! Bring out your weapons of war, encompass the holy city round about, and seek to fulfill every evil desire of your black hearts; yes, come out and beat upon your chests and shake your fists at Heaven! The kingdoms of men are finished! Judgment reigns and it shall fall hard upon your backs, until every last one of you is broken or blotted out! Says The Lord God. Children, I had sent to you Grace! Oh most beloved of My heart, My created ones, I am your own Father! Even I have loved you, sacrificing My own Son, spilling My own blood which runs in His veins! I LAID MYSELF UPON THE ALTAR! Sorrows, most bitter sorrows, such enmity and tears! Your Shepherd weeps for you! I take no pleasure at all in your destruction! Yet you choose death, you choose death! OH BELOVED, YOU CHOOSE DEATH! Estranged children, you are far from Me, returning to Me hate though I Myself have loved you. Little children, return to Me that I may heal you! Receive of Me and partake of My supper; receive of this bread I have broken for you, drink of this wine I have poured out for you! STOP BREAKING MY HEART! Tears, bitter and deep sorrows, wailing in all the earth. The day is far spent, night is here; all lampstands removed from their places, all candlesticks put out, all light gathered and taken; darkness, thick darkness spreads forth across the land. Behold, you are undone and given up to judgment. For only those who receive of grace shall abide in it, and only those who are accepted shall be taken; the rest left to dwell in judgment, choosing not to escape from underneath its shadow. For it has fallen and shall be very heavy, a weight which can not be moved, a weight awash in tears and blood and much death, a burden of heavy sorrows... Reap, O Son of Man, reap! Lay the axe to the trees, level the forest and burn the branches! Uproot and destroy and judge the earth; judge and destroy! Refine and uplift until the Day is done, says The Lord God. Therefore thus says The Lord, yes I, The Everlasting who is from everlasting to everlasting; I AM: Repent, and give Me glory! Embrace and kiss The Holy One of Israel! His name is YahuShua HaMashiach, King of kings, Lord of lords, My Son in whom I am well pleased. Listen to Him! Eat of His body and drink of His blood! My children, give up this life and depart from all This sin, forsake this world and now walk in MY ways, And you shall surely escape all these things, lifted up to glory!... From Glory to Glory, from Grace to Grace... Life without end."

    Agreed. Feeling pretty damned fortunate to have access to these videos, which elevate my knowledge of ideas/thinkers I've not had the opportunity to study (spot the older learner), together with my ability to think and frame my ideas more sensically. I notice that I invariably gravitate to Dr. JBP's summations of what's being expressed even when I'm properly following his guests' contributions to the discussion. His ability to sort of "rein in" and qualify the multiple levels of perspective relevant to a given question, and to articulate his thought process in a compelling and accessible manner as he does so, have been invaluable to me. I've no doubt that he's also saved me at times from lying awake trying to do this for myself. That said, I also believe that Dr. JBP's particular way of expressing ideas, from his speech characteristics to his authenticity, are what make him so compelling to today's youth.

    The revelation that Christ was both God and a carpenter is something I just picked up from this episode. The God of creation was revealed in Christ, who came as one who fashioned objects into purposeful tools of utilization. That’s a rather amazing concept. 4 years in seminary, and a lifetime of following Christ and I never thought of this before. This is why dialogue and discussion about the Scripture and culture is so critical. Thank you, Professor Peterson.

    I feel he has neglected having a scholarly discussion with Muslim scholars representing the mainstream Islamic scholarly tradition. The talk with Hamza Yusuf was cancelled and we have no idea if it will ever happen. It's unfortunate that while Dr Peterson is engaging with scholars and scholarly individuals from diverse traditions, but a discussion with serious scholars from within the Islamic tradition is being neglected.

    @@richardpotter6313 @Richard Potter that's a very weird way of putting things. I know of no entity called "tradition" walking around randomly chopping heads off. Of course, people following various traditions have indeed done this and some still do it. If you do not know of them, then that is reflective of your ignorance. Devout Buddhists in Myanmar (they follow a different sect of Buddhism than that of Dalai Lama) have committed the aforementioned act in the ongoing conflict. Hindus in Gujrat and other pogroms of Muslims in India have done this and continue to do so (ie lynchings by RSS Hindus). In Rwanda, devout Catholics, some of their priests, lured people to various locations promising safety, only to then kill them. Members of Bashar al Assad's fighting force, who follow the Alawite tradition, have in the ongoing civil war killed civilians in a cruel manner. Jewish settlers in occupied lands, who follow a conservative tradition of Judaism, have brutally murdered locals every now and then. These are just a few modern examples. Lastly, that some people who follow particular faith traditions who have committed such acts does not magically follow that they just opened their scripture one bright sunny day and went "ah see, the verse says I need to chop off heads, so off I go!" What about the many more people who follow these traditions and who do not commit such acts and, in fact, oppose them? Anyway, enough said. I refuse to believe that Jordan Peterson subscribes to your, basically, child-like manner of framing things.

    @@usmansheikh4304 The genocide in Rwanda consisted of a tribe gassed up by the papacy, Hutu, complete with the propaganda machine, the subtle progression and the arming of the jesuits. The Tutsi were predominately Sabbath keeping protestants. Fact. Heretics by the 'churches' and jes orders standards. Few realize Islam was also a product of Rome in 612ad. A band of robbers and assassins , with some money and the go ahead from the papacy went a long way back then. The leaders know it.. Everybody gets rich,, except the commoner. We're fed to the machine. Our last 6 presidents were jesuit trained. 6 of the 9 Sup CT Js, about half the House and Senate ...all with a mere 17% of the US being Cath. Our education system, news, banking, and even the entertainment industry all controlled by the same. We are that earth beast in scripture who gives power back to said sea beast, they who received the seemingly deadly wound in scripture, by Napoleon btw, at the very same year France accredited us a sovereign nation, 1798. A world religiopolitical system SUPERPOWER. Rome was the fourth beast kingdom in Daniel and still on deck when the books are opened. The only reason they haven't totally wiped out virtually every other belief system ...yet, but one, is because they all have signed accords and caved agreeing to unity. The one has also given in but there are a small remnant who have seperated themselves from the main conference and still adhere to the principals outlined in the Book. They pulled that crap during the dark ages saying let us reason together, let's have peace, THEN slaughtered every opponent. women, babies and all. There's nothing new under the SUN...worship. They're pushing the control narrative under the guise of this horrible illness ...for our safety when it's not. It's all about one particular day of rest, surveillance, control and removing paper money from the planet to track every action and penny. Novas orders seclorum ...and why on God's green earth is that, prescriptions (sorcery- pharmakia in Greek) and the law (which like medicine, we practice, in other words, no warranty) in Latin, a dead language? People worldwide overall, who had the ability to do something about it) have been made complacent. Notice all the helpless countries are one big rubble pile. That, or all shot out from western medicine. Gates actually said on TV that successful inoculation from disease would reduce populations. How can that happen unless their sterile, dead or. ..same sex attracted? For real. All seems applicable these days. And why are Saudi human rights violations so prevalent today, worst in any civilized country, chopping the heads off any dissenter, even having the religious police in malls looking for women with no hijab , other than because we get oil from em...? I assumed that the campus culture was changing just as I was about to graduate (2010). But looking back, I understand that the identity politics game was in full force even before I arrived. What kept me whole was a deep commitment to religion and traditional law. Those things are my very self. The students who lacked that commitment... well, they gave in to social justice.

    I ran to the library to C.S. Lewis 's writings. They shored up my faith and moral stance as an OTA recently chased from what was becoming a cultish church group due to violent behavior being covered over with a cover not of God's Spirit. I joined a G.K. Chesterton Club set up by some devout people and their fellowship helped, too. An OTA, I abhorred the Marxists with their crystal balls, telling us we white religious people were doomed to become a minority and rightfully so, in our multi race nation by 2025...all in a Catholic College. For the religious there was Liberation Theology slathered thickly like over sweet frosting on an underlying stench of Marxism, Communism, even Nazism. The schisms of isms was all over the place. I held my head high and took some Bs, but graduated with honors in English and English literature with a near minor in theatre arts. Actually, I had the highest grade point average among my English major peers, but was not even invited to my honors convocation. My Math teacher stopped me in the hall to congratulate me, causing me great confusion. Later my mail box was stuffed with the paperwork, the awards and a phi delta kappa pin. It is a struggle, even for older students, to stand up to the crazies who treat one like they are 'other' and need to be punished for walking in love and standing up for morality and faith in God. I am glad you relied on your belief system and traditional or natural law, as some call it. Congratulations. You are an amazing person and I am glad you found Jordan and his awesome podcasts.

    Unfortunately very incomplete without the consideration of scholasticism and very deceitful always when the origins of beliefs are brought up in conversation. Peterson lacks knowledge of ancient religions or is very poor and tends to rapidly draw some misleading conclusions upon it. When he does seem to have a perception or understanding of that matters to which he tries to go back it's nothing new but he's just reelaborating jungian conceptions, just saying, this im not criticizing. Only when he ventures to unexplored territory and draw conclusions when there are a lot, but a lot of scholars that wrote about thise matters deeply. In one of his videos he even mentioned the awfully wrong, outdated and clear fruit of the spirit of the time, a lower mass spirit, book called the mushroom and the cross. And then in another video he cries, and this particularly I do not criticize, having discovered the faith, christian by the way, but his knowledge of Christianism seem very poor and secular. And this is what I criticize, drawing conclusions with unsufficient knowledge. Verbigratia: how he assumes thr origin of monotheism in this video and moves on taking his assumptions for true. Besides that, I really appreciate Peterson in general.

    I am a former agnostic and I have "the mind" of a person who tend to think things deep. I use to have this complicated and elaborate understanding of all sort of things hence I ended up being an agnostic. Now I am a Christian for 6 years and I promised to let go of that complicated minset cause it really spiralled out of control and I missed a lot of good things in life. In some sense it is true that ignorance is a bliss and I found peace of mind in not constantly thinking too much but on the other hand there is this longing for that feeling of getting lost on that deep thoughts and that is when I saw the videos of Dr. Peterson. I was so amused watching him intelligently talk about his take on many things and my hope went up to relearn the things I have learned before but of course with care and guidance from the Holy Spirit. I don't know the man but I genuinely respect him especially now that he is getting close in encountering God on a really personal level. I pray that he will get there soon. Nonetheless Mr. Peterson is a great guy, he is genuine and his heart is good. More power to you sir God bless you. 😊

    A few things. 1) Joker, released in 2019 is an excellent exploration of the rise of evil and how it can generate sympathetic and passionate supporters. It's a phenomenally prescient film. The "dancing in the streets as society is burning" made me think of it. 2) the tower of babel story is, I feel becoming more relevant. Our language is being confounded because to do anything useful in society you need to learn a specialised subset of language that only those in your profession know. And since every profession these days is built on software, the software itself is driving the understanding of those who are practitioners. Bugs can be adopted as truths because the mathematics is so complex that experts aren't validating their output because they can't realistically do so. It's quite a terrifying thing that's going on and folks have no idea it's happening. 3) I have become enamoured with the "animating spirit" metaphor.

    I’m so unbelievably thankful to listen to these for free! Greetings from a german philosophy student EDIT: automatic subtitles would help me a lot to look up some specific words I don’t know! EDIT 2: 46:55 I really like the idea of panpsychism... it’s a really old idea. The hunter and gatherers believed that everything has a soul. Which would make sense to me. They connected to the spirits in trance like states (look up shamanism). I think we’re lacking that direct experience of being connected. That’s why “Nordic” bands like Wardruna or Heilung are so popular. They dig into that old wisdom. Everything that’s existing, not only us humans, is striving for perfection, that’s why there is so much beauty in nature. I think Aristotle and Carl Rogers also had a similar philosophy. If more people would take an animistic philosophy, we would also have no problem with environmental destruction. Why do we think that only humans carry that spark of god? It’s in everything. EDIT 3: Why are the big institutions like the church and university failing so hard to reach young people? Many of them are in a stupid social justice war that leads nowhere good. It’s not nearly as bad as in Canada here in Germany, but it’s the same pattern. My father and you, Mr. Peterson really helped me to stay on the better path. I can feel that love for wisdom growing in me, that’s also why I want to study philosophy and psychology. I cannot thank you enough for introducing me to people like Jung and Dostojewski! I really feel like you serve the best in me!

    You mentioned the key-word: "mystery". That is how we perceive God and His Creation in Orthodox Christianity. We never go too deep (because we can never fathom God's works and reasons anyway) and just take it as such. Orthodox Christianity sits on the notion of mystery. We accept and respect it at the same time, if you wish. On a different note: Dr. Peterson, could you please allow your guests to finish their sentences? 🙏 I'm from Eastern Europe and I would love to hear what they say. To me, such viewpoints on Christianity (coming from British/Scottish backgrounds) are very interesting, as all we get here in terms of people coming from that part of the world are highly secular people, who have nothing to do with religion.

  • @petardraganov3716

    @petardraganov3716

    That thing about never going too deep on the part of Orthodox Christianity seems to run the risk of a superficial and contradictory interpretation of the Bible, which could never be true. Insufficient analysis can also lead you to follow the Bible literally without genuinely following the spirit of its commandments, which would be a sin. These are, of course, potential dangers and I don't have many examples at hand of falling prey to them. I would like to hear what you think of as "too deep", i.e. what kind of question is not worth asking.

  • @McLovin3691215

    @McLovin3691215

    One example of a mystery would be the Eucharist (aka Communion). The Eucharist is both symbolic and mystical. Also, the Eucharist in the Orthodox Church is understood to be the genuine Body and Blood of Christ, precisely because bread and wine are the mysteries and symbols of God's true and genuine presence and his manifestation to us in Christ. The mystery of the Holy Eucharist defies analysis and explanation in purely rational and logical terms. For the Eucharist, as Christ himself, is a mystery of the Kingdom of Heaven which, as Jesus has told us, is "not of this world." The Eucharist, because it belongs to God's Kingdom, is truly free from the earth-born "logic" of fallen humanity. From St John of Damascus: "If you enquire how this happens, it is enough for you to learn that it is through the Holy Spirit ... we know nothing more than this, that the word of God is true, active, and omnipotent, but in its manner of operation unsearchable".

    @@petardraganov3716 Most of us don’t go too deep, certainly not without the right guides. Orthodox Christianity is pretty well-known for its love, reverence and adherence to the teachings and theological consensus of the holy fathers (ie. church fathers, from the earliest days of the church to the present-day), and many of their writings are so deep, theologically and philosophically complex and seemingly esoteric that your head would spin trying to understand it. But they were truly holy, God-enlightened men and women. To use Peterson’s language (which he used to explicitly refer to the Orthodox _phronema_ or mindset), they were able to “pick up (their) damn cross” and walk up the hill. From their vantage point on the top of the hill, they can see things more clearly than we who are still on the climb or still at the bottom. Or to use St. Paul’s words, they see things as if through glass, a mirror, whereas for most regular folk we see things more darkly. Hope that helps.
