@@clarkecorvo2692I absolutely get it. The world is nuts, and honestly why I went through some dark times (not just bc of the state of things but medical issues, etc) and just kinda lost my way in terms of just fading into the background. But everyday even when feeling awful I would make it a point to be decent to others and be able to put myself in their shoes and understand everyone has struggles, and some people’s are truly debilitating to functioning normally aka healthily. It’s tough for people that really get effected by the horrible stuff that goes on, and just thinking why are these things happening? why are we allowing these things to happen with no major changes being made to maybe make a difference in areas. We’re living in a weird world and it’s only going to get crazier imo. I did figure out that what I really want to do in life is help others, in one way or another. Amen brother we need more men willing to show their pain and be able too smash your head inside out if you want too mock that. I just wondered at first if Theo was tearing up because he made Sean cry…. I would have thought this is my last podcast. You can’t be a Richard Simmons trying too be a leader in us showing our internal war as men. This man is the perfect one too show it’s ok. I’ve done time and struggled with anger as a result of a brain injury from a snowboarding accident when i 14 changed my behaviour growing up for the worst, but the most anger I kept pent up was from that feeling of being alone too battle it, I talked too friends and family and they don’t understand your internal fight which in turn makes it worse too fight. I’m a believer in not seeking out the answer it will be given to you when the time is right. I still haven’t found it but videos like this help a lot especially when you can relate but see that strength from Sean that most of us don’t want too let out in fear of being seen weak. This guys good role model a good inspiration, made mistakes in life as we all do, learned from it and uses his platform to give people the help he never had. He’s there in that seat for a reason he suffered for a reason and it’s too help men struggling too talk about what’s eating them inside. I love this guy because I’m Canadian and he bashed Trudeau good up here lol

I’m not going to lie. I think this is a beautiful moment between two very strong and inspirational men who have been through hell and bounced back. The beauty in Sean being able to say this out loud to the world is probably once of the most important things a person can hear. I assume it’s almost therapeutic for men to hear these two open up so deeply. I can’t speak to that personally because I am a woman, but I hear so many men struggling and holding it in, so this may just help them have feel heard. Theo saying “we can just take a moment and I’ll be silent with you,” was truly the kindest and probably the most important thing do in that moment. This clip will live in my head forever because it truly does just give a glimpse of what the reality of going through trauma. I hope Sean knows how many people, men and women, can relate. Same with Theo being in a constant state of fight or flight. This clip is a wonderful example of how badly trauma can destroy people, and yet those people can still go on to thrive in today’s fucked up society. Two wonderful men being vulnerable is truly going to give many so many men, women, and children that are hurting something to live for, and someone to look up to.

Some of the most healthy and memorable moments I can remember were being a teenager and sneaking out to drink with my buddy in the summer. We'd sit by ourselves and just talk for hours about any and everything. That set a precedent for me early in my life, and I feel bad for men who feel they absolutely have to bottle it all up.

We as men were taught that it was wrong and weak to ever show emotions. I am in my 40's and the older you are the worst it gets. I'm not a single father man...My dad was tho & he got custody 9f me and my sister. He was a strict fundamentalist (nothing wrong with that), my mom left because of these strict rules.....But I was the oldest and beared, the brunt of my dad's frustration w/wife leaving & I was very mouthy.. I say all that to say, That in this day and age they would say I was abused. But I wouldn't have become the homeschooling father that I am now. I wasn't a teacher before Covid. But all the things I seen as over done punishments is what made me. Diamonds aren't made in a vacuum. Pressure is how we get these gems. The 80/90's were a different time. It's more strange for a man to strangle those emotions down then it is to sit and talk trauma out. I went on to ride bulls and suffered TBI's that led into epileptic seizures. But all of those things I misunderstood as abuse is what give me the spine to stand up and get up everyday. My mother di3d suddenly in 2019 and I used to say the best thing my mother ever did for us, Was that she left us... But now that she has passed on, I see why Mt dad was the way he was. Doesn't chamg3 history but I understand now and my teenage angst is gone. Very good clip Theo.

With you. My experience was every category of abuse, bouts of couch surfing as a kid, sleeping in a business storage room, the bullying that goes along with poverty. Got therapy, which helped, but there was still that hole in my soul. I had an ephifany...free will is love, free will can be influenced, Satan and his legions influenced my hazers to get me to blame God (where Sean is stuck here, which I get, but hope he sees it the adversary who whispered into the mind of his dad)...and that God is who gave me, Sean, you, us the capacity to survive. We are men, now, and the choice of good or evil is ours, every moment of every day. Therapy was useful, but seeking Christ earnestly changed everything for me. I didn't know that type of love existed...had no concept of it...or how He would change me. That all that pain of past could be retroactively converted into usefulness..into purpose ..into a gift. He is the ANTIDOTE, which is why the wicked that has ruled the world has programmed us against ever reading his instruction and love directly for ourselves.

Very accurate; Developmental Trauma, A.C.E.'s Trauma, Complex Trauma. He says, "If it weren't for UFC, I'd be in prison." Maybe so. The prisons are filled with those with the same, stored-in-the-body rage (Trauma), without a UFC, and acting out that anger in ways which harm themselves and/or others. Society is filled with so many who aren't even aware of the rage/anger within; as their respective defense systems, like Theo's, is more likely to freeze/fawn, and thus experience the symptoms of Trauma, bearing labels such as Depression and Anxiety. This is almost ubiquitous in America at this point. What we saw was him processing the story from intellectualized, "this happened to me", to emotional and bodily (he cries and looks at that left hand, which is where the anger seeks expression for him)..He then says, "I'm a man now", and is bringing himself back from the wounded child which re-experienced the memory. These early years are so important. I know this as a survivor myself, and your comment is also helpful, so thank you.

I grew up a lot like this. I'm 43 and once I got into my 40s, I found myself being hyper emotional at times. I mean hearing a song lyric or thinking about my daughter made me break down and I stopped myself from releasing it everytime. A couple weeks ago i actually sat in my truck and cried, I mean cried my eyes out for an hour straight and when it was over, I realized I have been needing that for 35 yrs.

Me too. I went through trauma as a kid and then became a police officer in a big city. There was death and suffering everywhere. I'm not sure about Sean's fixation on killing someone. I had to kill someone and it is a terrible thing, but it was kill or be killed. In my mid 40's I became emotional, like I had never been. I find myself talking openly about things from the past. I love my wife, so intently that it is painful, now. I have seen so much death that it permeates my life. I've become an emotional man and I reflect constantly on things I've experienced or done. I am terribly hard on myself, but I have been working on that and getting better. It seems like I used to rarely feel sadness. I went straight through and kept moving forward, but now I feel sadness from the past, present and future. This has been going on for about 4 years but it has slowly gotten a little better. I'm sorry that you are going through this but I'm glad you commented. It's hard for me to understand why I started reflecting so deeply in my 40's. It's been painful but I have grown. Treat yourself with kindness and maybe try to understand yourself. I hope that you can find some growth from this and move forward as a better person with a better life. I work on that everyday. If you have any thoughts for me, please respond. God bless, my friend.

When I was very young I heard my parents arguing in their room almost daily (dad was very emotionally abusive) but one time they had a huge argument and then I heard a slap. My father struck her. The door was locked but that didn’t stop me from banging on it like a crazy person trying to break the door. I couldn’t have been older than 8 and still despite knowing my enormous physical disadvantage I had this visceral, almost primal feeling to protect my mom. No child should ever have to fear for their own mother’s well being. I am sorry you had to experience that brother hopefully we can learn from our parent’s mistakes and break that cycle.
