Uncle Chael, I'm not sure if I'm missing a deeper question or point. With the Strickland vs. 'Ampo' spar, of note 'Ampo' was 150 lbs I believe; or not incredibly far from that. The pressure/extra weight put on the guy doesn't help. Also 'Ampo' I speculate would be even further in his element with kickboxing. *A factor to some degree as well is headgear, related to vision & a bigger target; for ex. An elite level Boxer will defeat an elite level MMA Fighter 99.9% of the time **in Boxing. With the Connor boxing Floyd example besides weight & Floyd being at the end of his career; Floyd wearing guys down over rounds is classic Floyd.

Interesting questions but first you need some backstory. That guy Sean is BOXING is a 155lb kickboxer. Kickboxing is also typically 3x3 minute rounds and at most 5x3. In the full video you can watch him negotiating with Sean on the number of rounds. Anko wants 3 and Sean wants 10! They settle on 7. Technically it looked like a civic vs a bmw but the real takeaway is how much longer a guy who trains for 25 minute fights vs a guy who trains for 9 minute fights. You've said it before but its no wonder that Conor lost right when it started to get to about 25 minutes. That should be the big take away.

Young Vitor Belfort vs Roy Jones Jr was my dream fight. Vitor's debut win against Jon Hess was an attempted murder. Vitor dropped massive Scott Ferrozzo, moving backwards, and showed he had a boxing talent unique to legends (dropping much larger opponents while moving backwards). But when Vitor demolished Wanderlei Silva, the way he did... it cemented Vitor's legacy from a handspeed + lethal striker perspective. Vitor Belfort vs Mike Tyson would have been interesting, with Tyson at that age... but would rather have seen a dream fight against Roy Jones Jr, personally, at the time. Roy Jones was the king of boxing when Vitor's career took off.

I think I heard Jessey from Jessey on fire say Sean doesn't want the fight to end I think he is right he is sparing all the time but to get a war with Strickland you have to go at him like DDP did Strickland will go to war with you but most his fights are Sean going forward and his oppenets moving backwards but Sean has been in some entertaining fights I think it depends on who he is fighting more often I think the key to beating Strickland is to not fight his game go to the body and don't let him push you backwards if he does that the whole fight than Strickland will put you apart GSP later in his career would pick people a part with the jap or take them down he became a point fighter later on and stopped finishing people
