@@konafreediversreviews1175 Go it. Really like and have made some fun videos with our kids. It is a bit finicky I've noticed. You really need to read the manual FULLY. The post-dive recompression procedure is not very well written. IF YOU OPEN IT INCORRECTLY AND GET THE LOUD BEEPING.....take out batteries for 10 minutes and then re-insert batteries and power on. If it continues, remove batteries for 10 minutes again, AND delete/re-install app. This worked for me and all is fine now. I wrote a post-dive procedure index card and got it laminated. Works great now and is a blast!

Just pick one of these up with the dragon 2500 combo, so excited to see how it does! Heading to Antigua in a week for a 6 day sailing trip, fingers crossed!!!!

Aloha Danny. We addressed that in the video. No fogging whatsoever! We didn't even pack it in a dry environment or use the moisture muncher!

Great review! Just one question - is it possible to use the Flex-Connect Dual Tray and Flex-Connect Grip without the lighting? I would like to use the SL 400 for snorkeling, so no lighting is necessary. I think with the tray and grip I will get a better handling. Thanks!

Great question. Yes. That is actually what we did. it will handle better with the tray and be more stable. We recommend the dual tray and the flex connect grip x 2

Hii Kevin im search about the axisgo,you thinks it’s worth,could you recommend that after long term use?

Can you talk about the optional light mount? First, is there a standard tripod screw on the bottom of the camera case? If you had the option, why not buy the optional light package? Any thoughts or issues that kept you from adding the light option?

Aloha Karl. It is a standard tripod screw mount. For freediving you're typically shooting more natural light. The additional lighting will help quite a bit in getting better colors (and exposure) at depth. Especially on scuba. Due to the limitations of phone sensors your're going to typically want a lot of power. That means the seadragon 5000 or something on the higher end of the power spectrum.

Nice review, how do you rate your phone photos and video using the case compared to the footage you get from your gopro 8/9?

Good question. It all depends on the phone you are using since now the case works with androids but it might be close since both the gopro and phones have small sensors. Newer phones are probably better becasue they are geared more for photo while the gopro is more of a video camera.

is it gonna be good for iphone 12 pro? can u use native camera app ?

Yes. It will work with all i-phones. You cannot use the native camera app.

Thank you for this review, isn't the red filter for use at deeper dives? I was looking at red filters and they have different reds for different depths, it seems like you weren't diving but snorkelling and quite shallow. I saw a set of red filters that started at 10 meters, then 15 and 20, they didn't use any before the 10 meters.

Aloha McLovers, Red filters will force the camera to white balance better between 0 - 40' or so depending on the amount of light and the size of the camera sensor. As you can see from the video we color graded the footage which means we took the raw footage and adjusted the color using software. This is typically going to get you the best results as the red filter will cut the available light coming into the lense. At shallower depths this is okay but at deeper depths it will harm the footage by forcing the ISO (sensitivity) of the sensor up which can result in grainy footage. Sealife's software will auto white balance and I believe it knows it's underwater so it will typically do a good job of it versus just using your raw camera. Best, Byron

I have a 15 Pro right now. I really want this one, but Im really reluctant to spend over $500(with dome) when I will trade in my 15 pro in two years. If it would fit the 16 or the 17(I assume that will come out later) I would get it. Im thinking will I get my moneys worth out of it in two years time before I trade my iphone in.

Graded footage is when you adjust the colors and light levels of the image using editing software

I have the Kraken case: how does it compare? The Bluetooth technology does not work well with the Kraken, where half the time the buttons don’t do anything, so I’m very disappointed in that product.

@@konafreediversreviews1175 hi, thanks for the response. Would you say having a good general light is comparable to a video light like the Sea Dragon? I have a Big Blue light that is very bright so not sure I can justify a Sea Dragon that is just a light and has no flash capability with this case.

How exactly did you get your iPhone to film in RAW? That blows my mind… It just seems like the little apparatus isn’t made for RAW. Or by “RAW” are you simply meaning to say ungraded? If so, those are two very different things and this can be misleading.

Yes raw is ungraded! Sorry for misleading you. Most video footage is not raw but compressed in some way otherwise it would be a massive file size.

Not so sure about that. I don't think they can't tranmit/receive through water very well just yet. I'd be very surprised if you got signal even 1m under the water. Just don't put an Android phone in it. It will be infected forever. Haha.

We are using this housing and it broke at 32m deep. We lost a brand new iPhone 13 Pro Max. We do not recommend at all this product. Do not put an expensive phone into this , the product is not reliable. You can find in the market housing that is rated to go down up to 80m, that will keep your phone safe.

@@ragetobe it is true that almost all comments are positives about this product. I might have been the "unlucky" where it failled, worth noting that it has been replaced for no fee by Sealife. I can share pictures of the broken housing.

@@labocean9451 If you are going to shed light in a negative way it is only fair you do it in the same way the positive light is shown. Show a video and explain what happened and the customer support you recieved. Perspective is everything and as adults we have a duty to react as adults, a knee jerk negative feedback on someone elses videos seems very one sided and slanted to your experience only. Considering what you do for a living based on your channel it would perhaps ebnifit others and you also mentioned another housing but negated to delve deeper in to that subject.

One more thing worth mentioning, for your own safety, DO NOT SKIP DECOMPRESION STOPS when the SeaLife housing breaks! We have been tempted to skip those stops to save the iPhone and avoid a 600€ bill. At the end your health is way more important than an iPhone. You'll be stressed by the sound of the housing and seeing the iPhone blinking and floating in water but focus on your dive computer and protect your life and your budy!
