Very weird! If they were in the midst of bankruptcy proceedings, you'd think they wouldn't be allowed to throw away potentially salable assets. Maybe a tax write-off?

As the company is *currently* considered "dead"/"worthless, the products would not hold enough value to the person handling the bankruptcy (on the government agency end) to be considered "worth the time and effort" to sell for covering debts. A store I pre-ordered from went bankrupt and had roughly $650k debt, but they got to keep $20k worth of stock from their store because the costs and market value of the items involved meant they'd only get around $5k estimated cash in return to cover debts. Which wasn't deemed enough to be worth the time and effort.

very troubling. also i agree with what you said about working retail, i worked in the mall also, but all i was told to throw away was expired candies and furniture no one bought (worked at a macy's) although back when we still had a gamestop here before it went out of business, i used to find some goodies in their dumpster in the early mornings. found a detective pikachu display that i kept for my collection.

Go back and watch one of the first Rudy videos where the head dude at MetaZoo is sitting with a cat. Look at his body language. How unserious he was. The weird sly smirk. When people show you who they are, believe them.

For those watching and saying new TCGs can't succeed and use Metazoo as an example, please stop. Metazoo was poorly ran and operated from the start. They had everything to succeed, and would have if they had competent ownership. Most of these newer games would succeed with the level of success that Mrtazoo had.

been buying up LGS liquidated MetaZoo cards over the past few weeks. its not dead for me. im going to collect all 7 sets. get some graded and just enjoy what is left of it. and if nobody gives a damn. i still will.

Warehouse space is expensive so they're probably trying to get rid of that space since they won't need it anymore. As for the pallets being tossed, who would take them? If you can't sell them and you're company is closing, you just toss them. Way more valuable stuff than this gets dumped when companies close

Glad you're back for another video. Let's just say I'm not surprised that pallets are getting dumped.

They're in a very difficult position, which explains the dumping of lower value products when you understand it. During a bankruptcy, you can't sell assets/products off. As it all needs to be reviewed by the person allocated to your bankruptcy case and they figure out what is or isn't worth it to sell. So these products were likely deemed too low value to be worth the time and effort to sell. This is because the agency that handles bankruptcies usually uses specific places like auction houses, liquidators etc. Where you end up paying insane fees on stuff you sell. So the walk away with 1/4 - 1/2 of the actual value of the products at most. And if its something hard to move, it's considered next to worthless. So not only can they not sell them during the bankruptcy, but they can't even offer them as something for the agency handling the bankruptcy to sell to cover part of the money owed in the bankruptcy. Meaning they either have to store them, which burns through money, or just dump them to free up space and alleviate costs. Obviously, I can't guarantee you that is what is happening, but that is the most likely scenario. I doubt anything dodgy is going on here.

That's a huge amount of unsold product. If those Pallets are loaded like Magic:the Gathering ones (72 cases of six boxes per pallet), this is over 5,000 individual boxes

100% lol. Those were my first big eBay flips back in the day. Star Wars retail displays were going for hundreds of dollars each and I was only making like $15 an hour working there, it was huge money to me 😂
