Seal Wounded By Fishing Line
It’s really good when the seal is calm despite its situation. This helps us finish the rescue even quicker so we can free and release the seal. Rescues are a traumatic experience for both, the rescuer as well as the animal in distress. We are happy that this seal gets a second chance at life, but the majority of entangled animals are not so lucky.

I'm glad Denzil is so fast🏃 or the poor seal might have made it to the water before you freed her from the line causing that awful wound. Thanks, team!👏

We are unfortunately not solving the problem, but only treating the symptoms of the plastic crisis with our rescues. These videos aim to show the consequences of this pollution and create a change to tackle its roots - namely our addiction to single-use plastics, the lack of law enforcement at sea, and the shortcomings of the recycling industry.
Thanks guys. Even though Wally has moved, it's nice to hear and see him.

With all the sprinting the OCN does, they will be strong and healthy for many years to come. :) I am so glad.
I don't think I'd ever heard a low moan like the one this seal made. It must have been in a great deal of pain. I'm glad Denzil's speed enabled him to net her so you could help her. Thank you OCN.
Bless her, she was really quite calm while you helped her even though she definitely felt it when part of the line was cut. Thank you OCN. ❤
Once again a great coordinated effort to save the seal. Thank you all. ❤❤❤
Yes, sadly she was very thin, but now she has been given her life back thanks to you.👍❤️
Great Job good to hear Walley...
To all the people that support this channel, can you please give a $1 donation? this is probably one of the best charitable events I’ve ever seen in my life. I am very disappointed how low the contributions have been for this group, hoping that my unaffiliated voice can make a difference in that.
Its good to hear Wally back in the rescues. Great jobs again you guys, keep up the amazing work!
Happy Independence Day!🇳🇦🌍❤
Hi all! Seals should be plump, smooth and free of any debris on their body. Seeing a thin, and even wounded, person with a bunch of fishing line loops on his body is terrible, it’s wrong! Thank you to the rescue guys for giving those suffering a chance to get better! Today is March 21, 2024. This amazing channel has 1.89 million subscribers. Subscribe if you haven't already. By subscribing, liking, commenting, donating and reposting, you help save seals.

The seals quiet as soon as you touch them. Beautiful
good to see that line wrapped around her was easily removed. now she can start healing, and return to the water, to start putting on more weight. eat plenty of fish, because you have to gain much needed weight. great rescue for that seal. she will now be able to regain her health and her weight👍👍
1493 SOULS SAVED - THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!
Olympic runners and rescuers 👍❤️🙏🌹
Great catch, Denzil. You are lightning fast! The seals instinctively run from you, but I always breathe a sigh of relief when a seal cut that badly runs to the water to begin to heal. Great job, guys. 🦭😇💕💕👍

Denzil the FLASH strikes again!!
Thankfully the line came free from the original wound after the poor girl lost weight, moving down to start a new wound rather than catching under the skin & flaying her, cutting below the skin until it reached a point where it was tight around the neck again, so couldn't continue moving horizontally, then it would have started cutting down & through deeper tissue again....😢 All because a fisherman discarded some line into the sea!!!!
Ugh the poor thing sounded like she was literally crying. OCN makes all the difference.
❤❤❤❤❤

I can't help it, I''m obsessing on the fact that some seals run while alternating their tail fins, while others seem to 'bunny hop' using both tail fins. If I was out in the field, I would probably find out each seal actually alternates between styles, 'depending on the mood', ... but then again, maybe not! What a goofy thing to be fixated on !!! 🙂
Denzil “Call Me Lightning” to the rescue again. Anyone remember that song by The Who?
