For those who don’t know: The edible part of the urchin, the Uni, while often referred to as the “roe” is in fact the gonad or sexual organs of the animal.

There's a difference between female and male sea urchins, the male are always dark black color while the females can be orange or purple like in this video, they are now protected here in Sardinia-Italy but back in the day we used to make spaghetti pasta with the eggs of the females. If you get them here's the recipe In a pan add some olive oil, garlic (not chopped up but depends if you like it or not) hot peppers and after 10 mins turn off the heat, add the cooked pasta in the oil, after that the eggs can be added and it's one of the most unique pasta dishes i have ever tasted😌 Ratio is 50 urchins for 4 persons (500 grams of spaghetti)

That chicken that sea urchin doesn’t want to feel pain and can’t defend himself and no animal didn’t want to die I bet if it was a dog this double standard is sick and wrong animals are not property you have no right to touch her or force her and treat her like she’s not a person or her feelings and how she feels doesn’t matter. be cancelled this is a sick and godless society all animals deserve to live in peace and not be killed by selfish people if someone doesn’t want to die don’t kill them it’s wrong nobody deserves to die this is disgusting and you need to go vegan that’s how Jesus designed it to be nobody should be forced to die nobody should have to go through pain. It says in the book of Enoch animals will judge people who treat them poorly. THESE ANIMALS ARE IN DIRTY CAGES LIKE BLACK AND WHITE SLAVERY TIMES and no freedom but born to be labeled as food and property of someone else. Stop the animal holocaust and African slavery with animals.

I went to Mendocino County to find these things at low tide. I got lucky and a really nice lady helped me find some. I ended up with 15, smaller than the ones you got, and it made juuuust enough to stretch out for four portions plus soup and sandwiches. Plus mine were half full of sludge. There's got to be a better way...

If i ever get the chance to try harvesting sea urchins im not going to bother trying to make sushi, ill be looking up videos where folks in asia cook using the outside as a cooking bowl with the meat/eggs still attached and use that as reference. I imagine that you get more urchin taste/flavor that way.

Stop exploiting animals and eating them it’s sick and wrong and twisted.
