Sea of Creepy Monsters - Go Wild

The Lembeh strait in the northern part of the Idonesian island of Sulawesi is a unique hotspot of marine biodiversity. Countless amazing creatures thrive in the underwater landscape surrounding Lembeh island. During four years a wildlife filmmaker couple spent many months in the region capturing hundreds of hours of behavior, lots of it never filmed before. Among other unique behavior the filmmakers were able to shoot an Anglerfish swallowing a Lionfish, a scene resembling Godzilla gulping down Dracula. Elegant seahorses, thumb-splitting Mantis shrimp, and deadly mini-octopuses are just some of the remarkable creatures traditional underwater films tend to overlook. As most of the underwater drama is hidden from plain sight only the groundbreaking macro photography in this film can reveal the awe and beauty of life in the Reef of Little Monsters.

Jamie Carter it's called Nature mate. If there were no death, there would be no life. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with ANYONE that is interested in learning and understanding more about the Nature located on our Planet. It signifies an open mind and a craving for knowledge. If not emotionally and mentally touched by this documentary, there is something wrong with YOU, not someone intrigued by it.

Yes, the beginning is hilarious; I wasn't sure what to make of it, but it resolved into a clever mix of an outrageous and unbelievable number of tiny fish that have never before been seen. It's also comedy gold! At 39:25, there is a well-presented skit with some Frog Fish that is not only fascinating, but entertaining as well. For those of us who are undersea water addicts, a documentary on sea life is usually welcome but its oft repeated themes and scenes most likely provoke a ho hum reaction. This is NOT the case with this documentary of sea life close to Indonesia's Sulawesi by two Austrians. Their attention to detail and patience has yielded a treasure trove of previously unknown creatures or behavior. Very, very worthwhile to watch. The 480p sounds terrible, but actually the clarity is closer to 720p.

If the world didn't pillage the oceans and Lakes, and only fished NONCOMMERCIALLY and ONLY ate what we needed, and we all humans stopped polluting ourselves and start cleaning up the waters TOGETHER, this beautiful vidoe of a cuddlefish and humans side by side with no worries, then I believe that we as a whole just might stand a chance. These oceans NEED OUR HELP, we are losing precious time and life in the corral reefs and all species within EVERY SINGLE MINUTE OF EVERY SINGLE DAY. Wonderful. An underwater treasure. Thanks to the entire production team. It's nice to know there's still plenty of undiscovered critters in the sea.

Think the cuttlefish was not trying to get attention...rather the opposite! The Cuttlefish was trying to blend in...see how dark he became like the dive-suits with moments of light ripples as if to mimic the Air Bubbles the divers expel

I really enjoyed this. Lol at the narrator getting interrupted by the predators eating whatever fish he was talking about. Really well-done documentary and the music does suit each animal shown. Just a delight to watch. Thanks for posting!

So true. I was sitting at a picnic table at a park by Lake Conroe in Texas. I was just sort of day dreaming when I realized these tiny little balls on the table were moving. They were the color and appearances of tree bark. Had no way to photograph them, but would have loved to see them under a microscope.

It's so cool how that cuttlefish just hung out with the divers right next to them. I wonder if recognized the diving outfits, which are worn by tourists who generally try not to harm the wildlife, and that's why it was willing to get so close.
