Thank you so much for taking your time to share with us. I am new to sea glassing, and began a year and a half ago when my mother was dying. I too am a cancer survivor, and am so grateful for my new hobby. I live near the beach, and now go every day when the tide is low. I have a lot of glass, and have been making displays and small cards and crafts. I want to try making the trees when I get back home. I'm so excited. Thank you again, and God bless you!

I don't collect sea glass, but I do purchase it from sea glass hunters here on FB to make jewelry. I am going to try one of these & see how it goes. I love the fact that you donate the proceeds! They are really gorgeous! I hope you make more tutorials working with sea glass. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing this. I’m so glad I found something to do with all of my seaglass. I know Walmart has it and Amazon too. (I live on Lake St. Clair ~ not the ocean) I’m not so picky about finding things etched on to them. I was pleasantly surprised find a dark blue green one that had a magnolia flower carved into it I painted it with some metallic paint and the flower just pops. It makes a perfect pendant for a necklace 😊 I love those happy little surprises

I absolutely love this! I've been wanting to do this for so long. I lived the first half of my life in Jacksonville Florida on the beach and have lived the rest of my life and worked my entire life on Lake Texoma in Texas. And I have got 5 gallon buckets, upon buckets of Sea Glass. Well I guess technically it would be "Lake Glass". I've been getting into making suncatchers and wind chimes and such with them, but now with the holidays coming up and it getting ready to be Halloween, I thought that it would be so neat to make Christmas trees with them and give them to friends and family. I've seen different ways to do it. Some with cardboard cones, some where you just glue the glass to each other, but I really like this styrofoam method! I think I'm going to experiment a little bit and see which way comes out the best for me. Thank you so much for sharing! 💖

Hi! Thank you for your comment! I use the Lortone 3A rock tumbler with coarse grit and run it for about 3 days. Then I check it. When you do your first batch check it every day because sometimes the glass you selected will get extremely thin while tumbling. I just want a frosted look with no sharp edges. I don't want the glass too thin. I only put thick pieces in to the tumbler so mine takes about 3 days.
