Sea Fishing at Whitby in a Honda Honwave T40 & Yamaha 9.9 HP 4 stroke outboard motor. This was my first time with the boat launching from Whitby, UK in August 2017. I'd always planned to come here but never seemed to find the time. After a bit of research and a free weekend we decided to visit Whitby and launch the boat from the marina slipway.
It was the first time out in my new Honda Honwave T40 and to my dismay the boat trolley wasn't wide enough to seat the Honwave T40 fully so we weren't able to fit the outboard motor to the boat until we were at the waters edge. This meant having to carry all 43KG of Yamaha engine down quite a steep slipway. The Yamaha 9.9 HP outboard motor was also fairly new having purchased it earlier in the year.
Anyway we managed to launch OK then headed out to Bell Buoy to try for some Mackerel. There were none there so we headed northwards towards Sandsend where we caught a few, then drifted for a couple of hours northwards towards Port Mulgrave.
The wind picked up later in the afternoon so we headed back in. We had a good day out and caught plenty of fish although not as many Cod as we would have liked but that's fishing.
