Thank you for this video. Your video is the only video I could find that shows mooring cover install with the bimini top down, that's exactly what I was trying to figure out. My dealer only showed me install with bimini up.

You’re very welcome and glad that it helped you. If you have any other ideas of “how to” videos on the switch, I’d be happy to try and make them. I need to get a tripod for my phone for better video taking haha

Thanks so much for posting this. We just installed our transducer and I could kick myself for not filming it so I could help others like you are doing. I just got the same cover for our 17 sport and will be trying the installation tomorrow. We are moving our boat to a slip with a lift so I hope we are able to execute this install in the slip with the lift. I also ordered the Ski Pylon and the installation instructions were more than I expected, especially when I have to drill a big hole on the boat. If you add a pylon install, film the installation!

Thanks for the feedback. Glad I could help you. Be sure to check out my other video on the mooring cover install, I just added a part that I forgot in the 1st video about the Velcro/buckle straps included in the mooring cover kit.

Pylon install video would be excellent. I was shocked with how much is needed for the install. I assumed it would clip In easily for $759.

@@zachcarter4612 Unfortunately, I don’t plan on installing a ski pylon on mine, at least not in the near future, but if I do, I’ll definitely film it and upload it.

Thank you ! My instructions showed the bow clips going to the top rail instead of the rail below it and I broke one…

Thank you for the video. Have you ever tried to install the mooring cover when actually on a mooring? Seems like an impossible mission.

I have never tried that. I’m thinking it would be tough but not impossible. Two possible ways…1. Back the boat in to the dock and get one side on, then back up and come nose in to the dock and get the other side attached. 2. Instead of putting mooring cover on from front to back or back to front, try putting it on from side to side. I will try #2 within the next week or so and film it to see if it works.

You’re very welcome. I have not traveled with cover on but I know people who have and it’s no problem for short trips and slower speeds.

How did you install the parts that clip on the front and back? My Cruise doesn't have them

The mooring cover kit comes with the cover, the Velcro hook straps for front and rear, the clips for the straps in the front, 4 torx bolts with spacers for rubber straps, the white, red and black straps and corresponding poles for those straps.

Is this possible from the dock? It looks like it would be difficult or impossible. We get ours next week, and I'm trying to figure out how you would do this from a dock, in other words only having access to one side of the boat.

I would think it would be difficult. Thinking outside the box here…..since the switch is so maneuverable, maybe get one side on then back out and do a quick 360 to expose the opposite side to the dock. Just a thought 🤔

We just did our first mooring cover install on our dock tonight and it's pretty much a two person job. One person in the boat does the side facing away from the dock and the person outside does the side against the dock and the back. I highly suggest going front to back on the dock. We went back to front and it was a pain. We also did all the clips as we were going which I don't recommend since it does not leave enough slack for the straps along the cleats and the two in the front and the two in the back. It's a learning process for sure but I feel it'll get easier the more we do it.

I wouldn’t unless it was a short trip to the boat ramp with low speeds.

Does the fenders need to be removed when putting the clips on?

  • @KSAsche1

    @KSAsche1

I would think you would possibly have to move them so that they sit between the clips. I don’t believe you would have to remove them. I don’t have the sea-do fenders so I can’t be 100% sure. Maybe someone else who sees your question on here can answer that specifically.

if you use the pole holes n set up the mooring cover with the bimini down....youll end up with a 300 gallon lake in the front of the boat........and no kidding the instructions were horrible...mine were no existent

Yeah, I was told the so called “pole holes for the mooring cover” are not actually pole holes at all, they are there for the add on key locking assembly for your floor compartments.

this is the worst design I have ever had to deal with. No thought on sea-Doo's part. It's a job every time you have to put this thing on. don't waste money on it. buy an after market cover
