Just press the spare tire in a little as you rotate the body up and the hinge will allow you to open up all the way

Thank you but it still falls on me somehow 😂 I don't take it off for minor maintenance, but replacing other parts I find it easier just to take it off completely 😊

I like both of them - only thing with the Honcho is the side view - that I found not as good. The Jeep looks good from all angles!

hey girl, lazer design has clipless mounts, for both, I love it!!!, no clips!!!!!it,s snap-on body makes it so sweet!!! and the spair tire, has to go, replace with yeti cooler, a bike and accessories, camping stuff, lol, I do have both and love them, thanks for your hard work, smash that like people!!!!! oooo lipo,s do not need to discharge, i just found that out, they are fine holding a charge!!, 9 years and i never disscharged a lipo, just something i was reading on lipo,

These are both great. Last fall I foolishly traded my original Jeep for what was at the time, the new Traxxaa Raptor R. I immediately regretted it but given how expensive these are brand new, I only recently was able to buy another one. I did have a difficult time deciding between the Jeep and the Honcho, as I did the first go around as well but the fact that the Jeep has a liscenced body is what put it over the top for me. I know the Honcho is technically the upgraded version but like so many rc vechiles, it does not look like any sort of mainstream real life vechile. Maybe some sort of real life crawler but nothing you see on the road. Most rc vechiles look absolutely nothing like real life vechiles which is unfortunate. Many are just flat out goofy looking so the fact that the Jeep is an exact replica of the real thing makes it very unique. Not only a replic but a high performing replica at that. Most of the few fully scale rc vechiles on the market perform poorly so that makes it even more appealing. Yes, having bright lights out of the box is nice but it is so easy to add brighter lights to your truck if you need to. Even taping a flashlight to it does the trick if you cant afford an upgraded light kit and dont mind it slightly affecting the scale aspect. I may also get the Honcho at some point but for now am satisfied with my choice. I do wonder how the Honcho compares when that tire is taken off. I assume that makes it lighter and maybe faster than the jeep? ALSO, i am able to flip the body up on the jeep as well. I then just jame a knife in between the replica motor and the side to keep it propped open and that works like a charm.

I honestly think that’s what does it for me, the licensed body 😍 I do prefer rigs that look like something you would actually see out on the road and I agree most just do not. Great idea about the flashlight! Never thought about that for a quick and temporary fix 😊 lots of great info jam packed into your comment! Thank you 😊

Im a jeep guy. But the honcho is just a step up all the way around. Id love to run the jeep but it rolls over and geta stuck more often. I find myself taking out the honchos more. 10th scale and 6th scale

If you buy five sets of tires you’ll have an extra set for the Jeep body.

Hi, I am new to RC and have a question about Batteries as you mentioned them several times. I started with the recommended Lipos but because I live in a Flat in a block, I cannot take the slightest chance of a lipo fire, so they have gone. I have got hold of some 3000mh 8.4 NiMH batteries and have yet to see how they last. I have re-programmed the ESC to 'economic' levels, and I am wondering about using 8 cell batteries there is also a question of running them one at a time or in parallel. Thanks for any suggestions.

First off welcome! 🤗 I will be upfront with you that I am not as knowledgeable in NiMH as I am lipos. The only advice I have for you is a firesafe box or bag to store and charge lipos in, but I understand if thats not even comforting for you.

@@RCprincess24 remember spectrum batts and their so-called battery discharge never stops at storage like it should it a system they makes batteries fail over time it always discharges the battery never stops You have to literally babysit those batteries and make sure they never go under voltage If they're sitting for any amount of time they're killing themselves automatically with out u doing anything You ever take a break from RC and come back all your batteries will be dead and worthless If you don't babysit them another thing is you can't ever put a spectrum battery into a proper storage charge they don't want them to last like other batteries will in storage voltage

Also set your low and high gear to a three-position switch instead of a two position the center position will put the truck in neutral completely and make it very easy to tow done it since the day the Jeep came out

Honcho tires are a bit taller!

It really depends on what you're drawn to more, scale or capability. In my opinion, I don't think you can go wrong with either. The jeep is more top heavy but it still is a plenty capable crawler. The honcho is not as scale looking as the jeep in my opinion but is also way capable. I don't think you can go wrong with either and both would make a great addition to your fleet. 😊

Which one you guys would recommend ? Itthey the same in specs wise right seems the jeep tilts more

It depends on who you ask. My dad would say the Honcho, I would say the Jeep. It really comes down to personal preference. The jeep is a bit more top heavy but it still is a very capable crawler. The honcho is way capable, but I'm not as much of a fan of the looks. I don't think you could go wrong with either choice, but me personally I prefer the Jeep. 😊

The honcho has an IC5 plug stock so you would have to change the plug on the truck otherwise I think you're opening the doors for problems down the road. If it was me, I would just purchase a spektrum IC5 battery that I run in the honcho just to be on the safe side.

I think it's one of those things thats not recommended but I know people have done it. I personally have not, I'm one of those by the book people 😂 I don't want to chance ruining anything but I have heard of it being done. Hope that helps!

I don't recall it being in the book but if you say so I'll believe you. I won't say I'm one of the people who scan the entire book unless I need an answer 😂 Just that I've heard people have had problems with 4S in their 6th scales and some have not. 😊

honco is in fact bigger and badder than the jlu just saying... dat light kit doe!! I grabbed a tan honco yesterday so i can get some of the 6th scale army dudes put a tehnical back end with the willys 50cal and send my spec for off down the trail for debachery to ensue. But in all seriousness, is there anything on the honcho that you noticed needed to be looked at before running it? like shims in the diffs or anything that needs to be specifically tightened down that easily goes overlooked or missed?

@@RCprincess24 yeah just the super weak grease they used. I simple greened all that and replaced with some VP grease. I also had to tight my slipper down a little bit. Other than that everything seems ok :)

Nothing new, can make a mod for jeep to add a hinge. Or use super magnet to put on the frame.
