Wow.. Can't believe how awesome it looks with the top off. The roll cage could use some paint. And so many options for scale accessories now.

I couldn’t bring myself to cut the stock body. So I ordered a clear one! Gonna cut it up soon hopefully. Just haven’t had the time lol

I always reinforce my bodies with mesh sheetrock tape and shoe goo, helps prevent cracks.

I was worried, one wrong cut and it could be ruined but it worked out.

Definitely an improvement. Reminds me of a Gen-1 SCX 10, the 2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon. Careful now Joe, you might want to start scratch building styrene Hard-bodies. 😁

I just trace the cut with a razor blade two to three times and it snaps off super clean.

It's crazy how much that body weighs. Cut almost a pound off geez! Gotta be almost 5 lbs with the whole body and interior.

I was wondering when someone would do this! But it looks great and takes some weight off the top..👍👏🏼 remember me saying it looked too heavy on the first drive.. I didn’t actually think the top would have weighed that much tho..this has changed my mind on this truck…

I'm thinking of taking my rollcage out and make one of hollow plastc tube and leave some sections of..because this rollcage inside the body is just for looks no protection...like the body and maybe dump the hole cage and make a hollowtube roofrack like on the Absima Yucatan or the Sherpa..want to make it look scale..

I was running my scx6 with my buddy and his scx6. He accidentally bumped the side of mine and my body busted a crack between the passenger doors about 6 inches long almost to the roof. We were disappointed as but these are pretty heavy trucks. But a 130 dollar body should last more than a few packs. Nice job on your body, I’m waiting on aftermarket bodies, hoping for a Cherokee or new style bronco body

Yes sir, I hope the clear ones aren’t as brittle. Been in rc for over 20 years, from that little bump the body should of been fine.

The green ones have been having a lot of issues with cracking. Contact Horizon and they will send you a new body.

I did a warranty claim and they are sending me a clear body and some free cans of paint to paint it colors of my choice. No questions asked, and I even already patched it with drywall tape and shoe goo in the pictures I sent horizon hobby. Great service 👍

To cool. One of the things I don't like about all the new rigs is that they are just a bunch of square boxes bobbling around. Suv bodies are boring. I drive a K-5 daily. I don't think it's a very good looking rig, but real handy. I've always liked the Deadbolt, I cut mine down to a half cage. A lot lower grav center is always better. As always, love your work. I normally don't like the top off versions but since I don't this jeep body anyway... yeah it looks better with top off.

I wasn’t a fan of the scx6 mainly because it was another jeep. This though I like and would definitely consider one just to do this to it. Looks great and as always awesome video.

Always like your vid's only wisdom ... Have a quistion. Going to put a Ext.bec in mi SX6 and i think of setting it at 7 volts..wil that be also save for my shift servo and i heard you say that the lights cant be just plugged in on the reciever ( voltage) How did you fix that.

I saw someone mount a set of mud slingers on their SCX6, not sure what size tire and wheel. Maybe off an X-Max? anyways, it looks amazing seems to perform pretty well. Not so much tire flex but that aggressive tread hooks on real well.

They need to come out with a different body or somebody needs to 3d print one. I know it’s new and all, but it would be nice to get a pickup version.

The complete Scx10 iii body with cage and interior is just barely heavier than just the roof of the scx 6! It is definitely a beast. I am curious what the complete body of the scx6 weights.

Ever tried the score and snap? Might of been easier and cleaner. Think Hemistorm did a video on it.

I would like to see if loosing the upper weight helps with the body roll I seen in your first video of this. When you turned left it body roll and torque twisted pretty good. I wish Axial would have done the Capra instead in 1/6 scale. With full tubed frame, body panels no lexan body, light bar, portal axles, brushless sensored system, two speed and 8" tires. The 1/10 stuff I have found is too small for terrain along trails where I live and get stuck a lot, always kicking them over obstacles. I put 8.5" Jumbo Kong tires on my Summit and it does real good on the trails just really wanted tubed frame and body panels instead of lexan body and wanted portals axles.

My only concern would be the windshield. Nothing supporting it and a fall could get it bent backwards.
