This show is too depressing

I love Sanae and relate because I know what it's like to be in a one-sided love with your best friend, but at the same time, she shouldn't have forced herself onto Hanabi. But either way, I just want her to be happy. I just wish it was healthy and that Hanabi loved her that way too.

I think people often misunderstand this pairing lol. I get as anime viewers we're often lead to believe all romantic relationships between girls are healthy and cute, but Kuzu No Honkai is completely different, as it treats all relationships with their respective realism and portrayal. It's very clear from the beginning Hanabi is not attracted to Sanae, but out of selfishness and resentment she forces herself onto Hanabi and essentially holds her emotionally hostage as she's made to participate in a one-sided sexual relationship she's not even comfortable with, Sanae knowing she's emotionally manipulating Hanabi. Them kissing here was about as comfortable as Hanabi ever was with their intimacy, and it's probably only because it marked the end of their awful relationship.

i think people mistaken this for a hentai or a bad series because it’s not “cute and lovely and awww” but to me, i believe this show teaches me how the reality of love and how it’s not simple and instead complicated. of course, this show isn’t for everyone. but it shows the realism of how relationships are. though, this is just my perspective.
