Sculpture in the City: London's contemporary art playground

Back for its 11th edition, Sculpture in the City is one of London's annual traditions for art lovers. The initiative turns the capital into an urban sculpture park, placing large contemporary works within the Square Mile - all free to visit.
New works on show from eleven artists - including the likes of Emma Louise Moore, Ugo Rondinone and Sarah Lucas - will be joined by six sculptures that remain from the 10th edition alongside two permanent acquisitions.
Each piece is selected for its ability to create a relationship and dialogue with the complex urban environment that it will sit within. Co-founder Stella Ioannou says the Square Mile can feel "quite sterile and inhuman" and "the art brings a human element."
Ioannou says she wants to invite "culture vultures" who may not necessarily view the City of London as a place for art. "It starts to demystify this part of the city," she says.
Visit www.sculptureinthecity.org.uk/ to find a map of the artworks and their locations. You can also download the free Bloomberg Connects app to hear from the artists.
