Nice job!!!
Je parie ... these famous Canadian "Voyageurs" in their canoes, exploring and trading fur along the great and small lakes and rivers of North America in the 18./19. century were the heroes of my youth! *_*
Hi David, I just found your videos and I have subscribed. I love your Native American Indians. I have just picked up clay for the first time in 20 years. I had used Roma back in the early 1980's, but have been steered toward the Chavant because it is sulfur free. Something to do with silicone molds not curing. Really enjoyed this particular video. I hope sculpting is like riding a bike. :-). I stumbled across a few of my old pictures of my work. Last one dated 1985. Thank you for sharing your talent in these videos. It has sparked my passion again. Matthew

Thank you Matthew.. Yes sulfur free works better.. and won't develop a scaly surface over time.. if it sits for a long time. Have fun...
Thank you I finally found the right one 😀
Fantastic work sir. Just stumbled across your amazing videos.
Thanks for these videos, really helpful. Have you got any advise on where to get an accurate not so expensive anatomical model from?
Such a dope hat
Hey David really enjoying watching you work... I like your video at the foundry. Can you please let us know where you got your large gray anatomy model I have seen it in your other videos and I would like to get one. thanks again for your post so wonderful seeing other artists at work.
brilliant
They were very brave.. When they went out to trap, they were alone and vulnerable to all kinds of dangers, where if they died, no one would know where or how... Amazing people
great job David! curious...what was the approximate time it took to create this piece?
Good afternoon David, I have used Chavant Clay before, does the brand your using get hard when it cools? hard enough to sand or carve? do you have any pros or cons between the the Chavant Clay and the clay you use? Thanks again for the videos. Ryan
can you show on how to sculpt the beard or the mustache, or give a tutorial on adding facial hairs thank you

This mountain man could be an ancient Greek philosopher or a 17th century astronomer - just depends on what kind of duds you slap on him! Amazing how much personality he had as just a skull!
I use medium.. sorry it took so long to get back to you..
I was just wondering if this clay was sticky at all? I am trying to find a nice clay that isn't overly sticky or dries out so I can reuse it.
took and hour and the bulb was a 100 watt'r

digitalsmithy Never effortlessly... you don't see it but I fret over everything I do as I'm doing it.. There's never a point where your not challenging yourself..
You bet.. I had the bulb real close to the clay.. normal clay would have melted.. this just got pliable..

+Dũng Dương Hello
because of the name of the clay, he'll always be French XDD
"...everything depends on tools..." I'm sorry, I have to disagree with that statement. I've seen people draw masterpieces with a pencil, while others can't manage a stick figure. Other than that, great video, love it.

+bkboggy yes, but... a great artist can be limited by shoddy tools. you can't create an oil painting with only a pencil and paper.

But then your aim would not be to create an oil painting to begin with, if you didn't have those tools. In no way does the lack of available tools justify the statement of "everything depends on tools."
