Scuba Diving a DARK RED River for Shark Teeth and Other Fossils - Fossil Hunting in Florida

Спорт

We finally got out to search for more prehistoric fossils left behind from long extinct animals from the Pleistocene! This hunt brought us to a Florida river that is very tannic and quite spooky to be in. You literally can't see your hand in front of your face without a strong dive flashlight here, but it did manage to pay off with some fantastic fossils.
I also did my best to help teach you guys a little about the fossils along the way. Let me know in the comments below if you like that sort of thing or if you learned anything!

Yea I completely agree, to see it dug up live is very exciting (and both your excitement as well), then to see it properly and clean makes it good to identify and then especially to see images of the full claw for example or where in the jaw it is placed, makes it very informative. Watched around 10 videos today and yesterday and enjoy this format most (plus the underwater element is very exciting). Also noticed already because you always repeat what it is that I already start to recognize what it is before you state it so thanks for class! Subbed 💯

This format is great, can sometimes get a bit lost when the explanation is separated from the specimen in the video so having them together is really helpful. Would also love to see a full collection video of any finds that you end up keeping, what happens to the fossils once they're found? Thrown back, educational institution, taken home, sold, etc?

Absolutely Loved the format! I’ve learned so much from watching your videos but I think breaking things up into short blocks (find then description) really helps to clarify and retain info without requiring as much repetition. I especially loved seeing the bison, camelid and deer teeth side by side. So cool! That was an amazing location with a ton of cool finds❤️. I think it just might merit a camp out and multi day hunt!

Hey Chris, I love this new format. It works so well and the little explanation clips really compliment the actual diving video. It's also really interesting to see what these critters looked like when they were stomping around the ancient environment they called home. I LOVED LOVED LOVED this new format!!! I really liked your going straight from the underwater "as found" shot to the dry out of water shots with the pictures, diagrams and explanation. That chain is wonderful for really educating us on what it is, where it anatomically is and what the whole animal looked like. This was a classroom teaching quality video!!! It makes it so much easier for the children or junior fossil hunters...or even us old ones just starting this hobby.... to understand what you are showing them. It probably took a little longer to edit than your usual videos but I am hoping that you saved the pics you used to a file for that specific species so you can continue with this new format and not let being slowed down to look for an appropriate pic be a deterrent to continue this way on future finds. I really liked you showing how the 2 toe bones would have been connected in the anatomy of the cat's foot even though, as you said, they were from 2 different sized animals. The drawing of the cat's foot was awesome at also showing the position and relation of the 2 bones. My profession was in Radiology and bones are a major aspect of that field so I am really geeking out at this new format you have given us today and have taken up more space than was needed to tell you why I liked this video so much but this hit a happy spot with me!! There is one big negative about this video.....IT WAS TOO SHORT!!! I would love to see an overnighter complete with tent and camp fire ( if that is possible at this site). I hope 2022 brings you and Bre Peace, Love, Serenity and Good Health and a year of fabulous finds that you have never found before...or tops the ones you already have!! Thank you for the great video's you brought us in 2021.
