Hey Birgit - great to hear from you 🥰! So pleased you managed to see the video - I can honestly say it was my favourite trip... EVER! All the wonderful dive sites, the whale sharks, corals, fish life and meeting you too 💕. Really pleased to read you are going on the same trip again in Jan-23, hope it's just as good for you all 😊. I will be diving Banda Sea in October of this year, so there will be another video to see if you subscribe 😉

Nice video! What a contrast with the conditions I had in September 2020 on Emperor Leo. Makes me wanna give the Maldives another try :)

Great quality video, Daniel. It was especially interesting to us because we will be taking the same trip on the same boat in January 2023. My wife, however, was not too excited about so many sharks:)

Amazing colors! Do you using filters on your camera and lights?

Thanks! Yes I use a keldan red filter on the camera, and also keldan ambient filters on the lights.

So, I am still somewhat of a new diver. Got like around twenty dives under my belt. Would I be ready to dive with sharks? Are people not afraid of seeing their first one? I know they get really bad press but i can not imagine being surrounded by them.

In short, yes! you are ready! Choose a reputable guide / company, that don't feed them - and you'll have an awesome experience. The first shark you see will be an unforgettable experience (I definitely remember the first shark I saw) and will certainly get the heart pumping, but there's really nothing to worry about - they are more scared of you, than you are of them (great whites aside!).
